SPRING INTO 2002
WITH OUR FIRST PERFORMANCE OF
"A GERSHWIN PORTRAIT"
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS,
MANNENKOORTS, FROM THE HAGUE
ON SATURDAY 13TH APRIL, 7.30PM
This event promises to be even more entertaining than our December concert.
We'll be performing "A Gershwin Portrait" - a medley of George Gershwin’s
famous songs, including favourites such as "Strike up the Band",
"s’Wonderful", "They Can’t Take That Away From Me" and "Let’s Call the Whole
Thing Off".
You’re also in for a treat with our very talented guest choir, Mannenkoorts,
all the way from the Hague, Netherlands. At last year’s Various Voices
lesbian and gay choir festival in Berlin, this gay, male-voice double
quartet received a standing ovation for their set, which included a
choreographed rendition of "Under the Boardwalk".
Once again, the grandeur and good acoustics of Dukes Hall provide the
perfect setting for this not-to-be-missed event. The concert will be
sign-language interpreted.
Tickets are available in advance at £8 (£5 concs) each by phoning: 07020 934
678, or can be bought on the door for £10 (£5 concs) each. Dukes Hall is
part of the Royal Academy of Music and is situated on Marylebone Road,
London NW1. The nearest tube station is Baker Street.
Be sure to put it in your diary!
