Saturday 1st July

EuroPride Parade – calling all singers!

For this year’s EuroPride Parade, The Pink Singers will be joining forces with the London Gay Men’s Chorus and lesbian and gay choirs from all over the UK to create the ‘EuroPride Sings’ walking group and float, together the largest spectacle of this year’s parade. We’ll be singing as we go to a specially recorded and mixed CD on a 30 minute loop of popular well-known hits to get the crowd going along the route.

Pinkies old and new are very welcome to join us as we celebrate and share the joy of singing to mark EuroPride London 2006. So get out that Pink Singers t-shirt from the depths of your wardrobe and meet us at 11.45a.m. at the intersection of Baker street and Crawford Street, where the float will be parked and the walking group will gather. Maps and further details at: http://www.pridelondon.org/parade/

The ‘EuroPride Sings’ float and walking group has been organised by The Festivals Team or ‘Team London’, an exciting new joint project initiated by the London Gay Men’s Chorus, who are working closely with the Pink Singers and other lesbian and gay choirs throughout the UK to motivate and engage with the community on a series of musical projects and events leading up to Various Voices London 2009.

Saturday 15th July, 7.30p.m.

That’s it for this season, and also farewell from me, as there will shortly be a new Publicity Co-ordinator taking over from me as moderator of this list, so look out for a new name in your inboxes from September! Thank you to everyone who has supported the choir over the years, from singing with us to attending our concerts, cheering us on at Pride, to the many responses I’ve had to emails like this simply wishing us success. Long may it continue!

Lastly, if you would like to join the Pink Singers or can be tempted back…the new season starts on Sunday 17th September 2006. Our new members’ rep can be contacted on 07020 934 916 or at joining@...
