Dear former members of the Pink Singers

 

It’s time to get out your glad rags and dust off your dancing shoes, the Pink Singers 25th Anniversary ball takes place on Saturday 12th April 2008 and tickets are now available on a first-come-first-served basis to former members of the choir.

 

We would love to celebrate this occasion with as many people who have sung with the Pinkies over the years as possible. We have hired a luxury, three-deck party boat on the Thames for the event with buffet, DJ and bar! Full details are given below.

 

We have 145 tickets in total, currently limited to two per person, costing £25 each. Roughly 100 tickets have been allocated to current members of the choir, therefore please do contact us ASAP if you would like to attend this event, as demand is expected to be high for the remaining tickets and you will need to purchase and obtain your ticket(s) in advance, as they will not be available at the event itself. Due to the limited number of tickets, we cannot, unfortunately, offer any for sale to the general public or to those on this list who are not current or former members of the choir. 

 

If you would like a ticket or two please either email tickets@... or call 07020 934 678, you will then be sent a pay pal invoice so you can pay online or a postal invoice allowing you to pay by cheque.

 

Although this is a formal event you do not need to bring a guest with you, nor do men have to wear tuxes and women dresses – we are a gay and lesbian choir after all. The dress code for the ball is formal and we would love to see people in black tie or ball dress, but we realise not everybody has a tux or frock in the wardrobe. Everyone should be smartly dressed – no jeans, t-shirts, trainers or cords.

THE BOAT – AVONTUUR

The boat is split over three levels, the top level is open and allows unrestricted views and plenty of seating, the next level is the saloon area which allows formal dining for up to 145 people all on one floor, and the lower deck has a large dance floor for those of you who like a boogie.

DEPARTURE POINT – WESTMINSTER PIER – ARRIVE AT 7PM TO BOARD – DEPARTURE 7.30PM

With the event having a formal dress code, we thought you may like a memento of the occasion and have organised for a professional photographer to take pictures as you arrive at Westminster pier and whilst boarding the boat. Once you board the boat you will be greeted with a glass of wine or orange juice and directed to take your seats in the saloon area. Once we are all aboard the boat will cruise the Thames, providing a lovely backdrop to the evening, which is especially appropriate for a London-based choir.

ON BOARD

We will enjoy a hot buffet, which caters for meat eaters and vegetarians alike; there will even be some dairy-free food. During the evening we will have the obligatory speeches, awards, singing and cake, rounding it all off with dancing in the lower deck courtesy of the DJ provided by the venue. For those of you who prefer a less frenetic evening you can enjoy drinks in the saloon or on the open-air deck, where smoking is permitted. We will have sole hire of the boat, which has a fully stocked bar with prices a little cheaper than club prices: £1 soft drinks, £2 J20, £3 Beer, £3 spirit & mixer, a bottle of wine from £14.

DISEMBARK – WESTMINSTER – 11.30PM

Our evening will end back at Westminster pier at around 11.30pm to allow those people who are not going on to a club to catch tubes and trains home.
