Brother Paul,
The Moderator had mentioned that he had invited you to stir things up in the
group. Well sir ,you certainly have done that with me. I would like to add some
fuel to the fire, not to say that it needs any, if your question doesn't get
things rolling not much will.
Your question is asked in five parts, to keep it short, you indicated that you
need to give a biblical answer to these things, and so I would like to suggest
exactly that. ( I struggle with these things also.)
1. The origin of sin, Jesus said, (St. John 8;44) to them----- You are of your
father the devil,-------- When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he
is a liar and the father of it.
2.(Matthew 12;22-32 ) is the story of Jesus casting out a devil. The Pharisees
said Jesus casted out devils by the power of Beelzebb, the prince of devils.
Jesus seems to have called their accusation, blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.
He said there is no forgiveness for that in this world or the world to come.
You asked what role does God play in the origination and creation of evil and
sin. It seems to me that the biblical answer has to be none because from the
passage cited it is clear that to accuse God of doing the work of the devil, is
blasphemy so severe that it can't be forgiven.
3. I've not been able to find the word, sovereign, in the bible. I don't know if
there is a biblical answer for it.
4. (1 John 3;8) He that comitteth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth
from the beginning, for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he
might destroy the works of the devil. ( 1John 2;15-17) Love not the
world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the
love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the
flesh, and the lust of th eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but
is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that
doeth the will of God abideth forever. The biblical answer seems to be that you
can't pin the creation of sin and evil on God.
5.The biblical answer is, from all the above mentioned, Satan's roll in the
creation of sin and evil is he alone is the Father of it. The source of sin
can't be in God the Creator because then his house would be divided against
itself and could not stand. His Kingdom would be divided against itself and
would fall.
I believe I have given you the true biblical answer to your question. I am
looking forward to seeing your reply and what others post. I have been wrong
many times in my life, perhaps I need help with this also. I have many questions
also. In Jesus' name and his love and grace, Cliff.

Ok everyone, here is an interesting question in which I am very curious for
your input.
I have been having a conversation with someone regarding the origination of evil
and sin. I am struggling, possibly with stumbling over my own words, so I am
hoping for your thoughts.
1. Where did evil and sin originate from?
2. What role does God play in the origination and creation of evil and sin?
3. By pinning the creation of sin and evil on man, does this take away from
God's sovereignty over all things?
4. By pinning the creation of sin and evil on God, does this take away from
God's glory and goodness?
5. What role, if any, does Satan play in the creation of sin and evil?
I KNOW these are loaded questions, but I am faced with offering a Biblical
answer in which I am struggling to place into right words. Any help is
appreciated!
In Christ,
Paul
