Folks,
The weather is great and this Sunday we begin the second half of our 2011/2012 Barn Dance season (the 9th of 16 dances). This is our 35th Barn Dance season of Old-time fun with friends & family. The dance this Sunday is extra special because we a great high energy string band on tour with a dynamic & energetic caller!
Also joining us will be our annual visit from the group of foreign exchange High School students who study all over Northern Illinois with AFS Intercultural Programs USA. They do group get togethers occasionally for cultural events, and for many years we have been chosen as one of the main events! come on out and hear a great string band & caller, and meet and dance with great students form more than a dozen countries!
These Fox Valley Folklore Society Dances are co-sponsored with Fermilab Folk Club and Chicago Barn Dance Company! Our dances are fun, and good physical & social exercise for friends & family. It's also a great concert that features many of the finest old-timey musicians in the Midwest. These are great outings for the whole family (kids 12 & under are free), or for Birthday parties or special events with friends so come on out.

Everyone is welcome and no costumes, partner or experience is necessary. Each dance is taught and our callers are experts at turning beginners into smiling dancers and when you need to take a break, the live string band music accompanying each dance is a top-notch concert in it's own right. Light refreshments & snacks are available at the break & folks are welcome to bring their favorites to share if they like.
