New - Porcupine to buy and similar bands?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #120 of 676 |
Hi,

I have just 'dicovered' Porcupine Tree thanks to people from groups
covering Black Sabbath, Rush, Wishbone Ash etc.

I have:

Coma Divine (Live, Rome, 2003),

Are there other albums I should be getting first as they stand out
above the others?

I've bought - Dream Theater, 'Scenes From a Memory' - which I think
is excellent and 'Live at the Marquee' - which has its moments. Does
anyone know what other albums of their's should I get?

I'd love to find other bands that are equally good. I like grundgy
bits but melodic bits too (and bands with a bit of fun too -
like 'Dream.....'). Something origional is great and over-produced
commercial stuff turns my blood cold.

Someone has recommended Fates Warning - are they like Porcupine Tree?

Any suggestions of other equally good bands (with which albums to
buy) in the Porcupine Tree mold would be really appreciated.

Please e-mail me if possible.

Thank you very much in anticipation,
Martin
