For those that do not know about weeding read this:

- Those that reply have to agree to weed the discs on to a further 3
people. This is best done by re-offering the show on the
porcupinetree group, or another CDR trading group, but you could also
pass the show on through personal contacts. As you can see, the
number of people with the show will grow exponentially.

This process will continue over the weeks, with more and more people
having received the show and offering it up for anyone else.
Eventually the weed will become saturated, and attract few new
takers. At that point the show can be considered to go into the usual
trading channels.

To make things clear - this agreement does not require trade or
blanks and postage from the recipient. You can still access shows
even if you have nothing to trade. Your only obligation is to pass
the show on.

Responsabilities of the person weeding the show;

- First make sure your copy is clean, especially check for any Track-
At-Once burn errors.
- Offer up the show as quickly as possible. You may have to select
from more than 3 respondants - you may choose the first responses, or
those that live geographically closest to you (to cut postage times),
or reserve a copy for digesters/the burnerless...its up to you.
Initially however, weeders should choose those with the capability to
quickly re-weed the show.
- Once you have chosen your respondants, briefly repost advising your
weed offer is closed.
- Make your copies in a timely manner ( burn Disc-At-Once only). Make
sure your copies are clean.
-Post them in a timely manner.


If you are burnerless;

- Wait until the initial flury of weeding a new show has tapered off
a little.
- Respond to an offer, advising that you are unable to continue the
weed.
- Enjoy the show when you recieve it.
If you get a burner in the future, continue the good deed and offer
up shows to the burnerless whenever you can :-)

Weeding is simple, friendly and effective. The object is to share the
music as quickly and effortlessly as possible. You will not only be
helping to spread the shows, but probably also have a few more trades
happening as well.
