hello everyone, simon here from pink hedgehog...

further to the recent posts about peter's forthcoming collaboration, i
can confirm that the project is nearing completion... in fact i have
heard an early version of the album and it sounds fantastic! it's
just undergoing some last minute artistic tweaks, then we should be in
a position to give you all some real hard facts about the release. it
goes without saying that you will all hear about it first! i hope
peter doesn't mind, but i'd like to keep your attention for just a
little longer... i have posted a similar email to this to the pink
hedgehog mailing list (which i know some beamers are also on, in which
case sorry for the duplication!), but it concerns by brother, who
plays in a band with me called garfields birthday, which of course
makes us label mates with peter.

remember the "brian is back" campaigns of the beach boys in 1976 and
again in the early 80s, well forget that, this is the "shane's back"
campaign, which has absolutely nothing to do with it all...

i took my brother shane to his hospital appointment today... as you
know by now (how could you avoid it with me haunting your inbox of
late), my brother plays guitar in garfields birthday with me and has
been off work for several months now with a crippling back problem.
well, he's had all the surgery he needs and he has reached the point
where he is able to walk again (sort of... hurrah for modern medicine
and the clever doctors who rebuilt him!), and now he is undergoing
extensive physiotherapy and the like, in order to get him mobile
again. well, here's the thing... he has the chance of a course of
hydrotherapy (that's in the water innit), which will cost him a total
of £140 (he is unable to get this on the NHS), which will involve a
six week course of treatment that will no doubt get him up and about
all the sooner... and back to work... and also back playing with the band!

obviously being unable to work (or gig) or do much of anything for
such a long time, the cash isn't exactly in great supply for my bro
and his clan... but i would really really love to help pay for these
therapy sessions and get him up and running (or at least fast walking)
again as soon as possible. partly because i want to be playing music
and doing stuff with him, but also because he is my brother... (cue
the hollies) and as a student i am terminally skint and unable to do
much in the way off offer financial succour... so what i propose to do
is this:

price to cover the cost of his treatment, which i like to think is
achievable... i know many of you already have a copy of the cd, so
