FUNK IS THE SKUNK OF THE JUNK IN YO TRUNK.
It Rocks! Some more info regarding the new King's X release. From
the KXO message board, posted by someone who works in the industry.
From KX's new record label, Insideout Music. Sounds promising!!:
Ogre Tones is featured on the cover of this month's Ryko new release
book. Usually means it's a high priority for the distributor.
The legendary trio King's X are widely known as the pioneers of
powerful groove rock. Highly respected by critics, adored by their
fans and held in high esteem for their excellent instrumental skills
by musicians from all areas of music – King's X has a
brilliant reputation that is unequalled in this business. The new
album Ogre Tones is their first studio album with new material in
four years and it is already being touted one of the best in their
catalogue.
To properly welcome King's X to the IOMA / SPV / RYKO
family, Inside Out Music will be implementing its most aggressive
marketing/release plan to date. This will feature two promotional
video clips that have already been filmed by famed Hip-Hop
director, "Dr Teeth", a national commercial radio campaign, a stand-
alone consumer advertising campaign and a 6-week North American tour
that has been coordinated to begin with the release of the new CD.
(Oct. - Nov.) Ogre Tones was produced and mixed by Michael Waegner
(Metallica, Alice Cooper, Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, Dokken, Megadeth,
Motley Crue, Skid Row, Extreme).

THIS IS AMANDA FROM THE PINES AND I IS LOOKING FOR THE GASKILLER JOEY
GASKILL! GOD IT'S BEEN 7 YEARS I THINK. THERE IS MUCH TO BE UPDATED.
LIKE TO KNOW. IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO CONTACT ;PLEASE TELL HIM OR I...
BEEN LOOKING EVERYWHERE NO HOPE REALLY.
Wow, first post of the new year, Mellis you weren't joking, this
place is dead! But I know yall love Doug as I do, so perhaps we can
share some info. Any video traders? I have Poundhound's "Live
Bootleg"'98 if anyone's interested, love to find some live King's X
if it exists.
Did you know that GEEK are Jerry Gaskill's sons, Jerrimy and Joy??? I
interviewed them for my magazine and web radio show when they were here earlier
this year... kewl folks!
Spent most of this weekend listening to the new
CD again and again. I had heard it when I first
bought it but for some reason it started sinking in this
weekend. Man, Doug is so deep! At first I only heard the
heaviness of it, musically speaking, now I let in the
heaviness of the words and the music. Loving this
CD!

Looking forward to the new KX one now
too!

Jeff
www.funktry.com
I recently went to the Poundhound show in
Houston, texas and man was it a great show!
I was blown away
to see such a badass band in an intimate setting
like Fitzgerald's. I didn't pay to much attention to
the opening act Geek because I tune out if the singer
sounds like the cookie monster(cooookeeeee!) from sesame
street. Poundhound is from a time where stage presence
and knowing your instrument mattered. Doug blew me
away with his electric church and the drummer Erick
was right on the groove hammering out some serious
beats. Somebody or band better sign him up cause he is
definately a pro.
I saw King's X, before they were signed
to a label, at a music showcase in Houston
(Numbers)back in the 80's and I will forever be grateful that I
got to see them start off on their musical journey.
Doug....what can I say...you are the only beacon Rock has
right now....keep it up.
I put some images up of the CD artwork for the
new PH Pineappleskunk Limited Edition double CD,
German Import. CD #2 has an MPEG file of the Poundhound
Live Bootleg video for your computer. I am assuming
this is the same art as the U.S. release, at least
from what I have seen. The lyrics are also included in
the booklet. Check it

Oops, is it Wes? I feel real stupid.
Purple Splotches- yeah you have the
right idea.
Both of them were really nice guys. Len is a great bass player.
I was going to the Rome show because the opera
house is a nice club in the nice part of town and it is
the closest show to me (knoxville, tn) but their
website is down and their phone number has a message
(that is difficult to understand) about how they are
cancelling shows and will be closed for a while and they
have to "wait and see what happens" etc etc. Also, I
noticed an Atlanta show was recently added. Does anyone
have any info on the Rome show? Is anyone planning on
going to this show?
As I mentioned before, I'm new to PH. I'm happy
to say that I was not disappointed!!! I had no idea
how heavy they were. Doug said this is the happiest
he's EVER been and it showed!! Christian ROCKED!!! Len
isn't much on stage-presence, but he added beautiful
harmonies!!!

GEEK is awesome if you're into "that kind of music"
and I am, so... After their set, they were front and
center for PH for most of the show, jammin' to it like
it was their first night out. The singer had a lot
of vocal power! Joy was rockin' too!! I hope they
stick around for awhile.

If you're lucky enough
to make it to the gigs, you're just that. Lucky!!
And don't forget to check out the GEEK mascot. It's
truly art.

f/h/l
marz
