Should be working..
And YES, sounds very promising

We have heard about this record before, cant remember if The Blueprint have been
there before.

i collect obscure music, have done for ages, but also have a penchent for
occasional pop and mainstream etc, hence my interest in prefab sprout....
my point is that whilst collecting esoteric music, heavily investigating all
60s - 70s psych rarities etc recently , i have stumbled upon a great LP that
reminds me of prefab sprout, albeit 15 years prior....
to those of you with broader open minded music tastes and in need of a
prefab fix having exhausted those prebab lps i cant recommend enough the LP
"Click" - ST - 1969 - its a little like Swoon, and even has some Steve Mcqueen
elements...., i wonder if paddy mcaloon knows about this one, i doubt it,
but he ought to hear it.
if anyone is particularly interested and has little joy finding a copy then
i can send a cdr of it, then perhaps it could be re- offered to the group
for circulation...
this probably wouldnt appeal to the casual listener etc.,...
best wishes
j.

Hello:
I have been contacted by Richard Ormerod, another
Sprout fan, who has started a campaign to get Paddy
McAloon awarded the Honorary Freedom of the City of
Durham.
He is asking all fans to join this petition and send
their letters to Councillor Fraser Reynolds, to this
address:
Councillor Fraser Reynolds
Leader, City of Durham Council
Town Hall, Market Place
Durham
DH1 3NJ
I have uploaded this info to my site:
http://www.ferhiga.com/prefab/pscampaign_eng.htm
And it also appeared at Sproutnet's site:
http://www.prefabsprout.net/keystothecity.html
Here is a suggested letter (please customize it and
add your own thoughts):
Dear Councillor Reynolds,
I am writing to request that Paddy McAloon be granted
the Honorary Freedom of the City of Durham, in
recognition of his achievements as one of Britain's
greatest ever songwriters.
As well as achieving much success with his own band,
Prefab Sprout, Paddy has also had his songs recorded
by internationally famous artists including Kylie
Minogue, Cher and Jimmy Nail.
As you are aware, Paddy comes from Witton Gilbert and
is widely recognised as one of the top songwriters of
his generation.
It is no exaggeration to say that he is Durham's John
Lennon, and I believe that the City should formally
recognise his outstanding talent.
Yours sincerely,
.................
Let's give all your help to this great idea

Hello:
If you are a drummer and a fan of the Sprouts, you can't miss this
opportunity for bidding on a drumkit belonging to Neil Conti. Yes,
that's right, he used this kit for the 1990 European Tour of Jordan,
and for recording some tracks from Jordan, Langley Park such as If you
don't love me and The Sound of Crying. Also, in Stephen Lipson
recordings and Annie Lennox's Medusa.

From what I can tell from amazon.co.uk, the CD is on the Music Club
Deluxe label.
Normally, this is a budget label. Rare occasions - you will find
rare remixes/versions that they have managed to drag out - however, I
can be assured there will be no official intervention from the band,
Sony or Kitchenware. Probably just EMI Music have licensed it to
them. The bands are never really involved in these kind of
compilations (hence the very bad cover).

After the wonderful acoustic renderings of "Steve McQueen" by one of
the best British singers/sonwritters-Paddy McAloon this is a bit like
"Flogging a Dead Horse". Good start for new Sprout fans and good price.
Hello:
Thank you for letting us know of this release.
At first look, it seemed like a rearranging of "38
Carat" compilation release, but checking all the
tracks, it has some surprises.
It favours more SWOON tracks than later tracks.
And it includes two tracks worth having: "Nero the
Zero" and "Donna Summer".
"Nero the Zero" is available in a single disc, but
"Donna Summer" was more difficult to find. If only for
those two, it might be worth getting it. And it has a
cheap price, right?
Regards
Fernando
