JOHN ELLIS QUINTET PLAYS JAZZ GALLERY, NEW YORK, THIS
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2.

John Ellis, recently signed to Hyena Records, performs
with his quintet Thursday at Jazz Gallery, 290 Hudson,
New York,(212)242-1063. Sets are 9 p.m. and 10:30.

The quintet consists of John Ellis (tenor sax), Aaron
Goldberg (piano), Joe Martin (bass), Mike Moreno
(guitar) and Terreon Gully (drums).

The group will be playing songs from Ellis' upcoming
Hyena release "One Foot In The Swamp." Three songs
from that date are also featured on the new Charlie
Hunter Trio cd, "Friends Seen and Unseen" (ropeadope).

John Ellis also appears with Charlie Hunter Trio
Thursday, September 16 at the Knitting Factory in Los
Angeles (co-bill with Bad Plus) and Friday, September
17 at Monterey Jazz Festival.
