I am a new member to the group and was glad to find
that there is a group devoted to Prokofiev.
I wonder if other members of the group have a CD
titled "Back in Prokofiev's USSR." The recording was
put out on Beaux 38 (a label I'm otherwise not
familiar with) in 1998, and features recordings of the
Cantata on the 20th Anniversary of the October
Revolution, op. 74, Cantata for the 30th Anniversary
of the October Revolution, op. 114, and A Toast!, op.
85 (in honor of Stalin's 60th birthday). The last two
works are listed as being cuts 11 and 12,
respectively, on the disc. However, a comparison with
some Russian recordings of the works leads me to
believe that the order is reversed, with opus 85
actually being cut 11 and opus 114 being cut 12. As
these are far from being frequently recorded or
performed works, I am curious as to whether anyone
else has noticed this or can confirm it.
