I've recently been cleaning up my online existance after my move to
Utah, which means going through every single website I've ever
registered on and changing all my information. While at the Yahoo!
Groups site, I became inspired to change the group settings, allowing
open posting (anyone can post)as was suggested on the SPA website
review of this Yahoo! Group. And that spam message we all recieved
today (well, those of us who are subscribed to get every post as an
email) is an example of why I haven't had open posting. You must
understand that spam is one of my pet peeves, since I already get
enough advertising on TV, Radio, Billboards, Buses, and T-Shirts for
products I don't need or have any desire to buy. I understand that
some people don't really mind spam, but it leaves me with the desire
to strangle the sender. After recieving the message in my mail first
thing this morning, I put the settings back on discussion posting
(you have to join before you post). However, new members are no
longer moderated, outsiders can read postings, and members have
access to the member directory. If anyone has any complaints about
the new settings, please feel free to voice them here and I'll
consider them.

I've recently updated my Prokofiev site, and those of you who are my
fans should go look. Rather than delete the whole thing (as I'm
tempted to do), I left it up in it's petrified state. My interest in
Prokofiev has dwindled to nearly nothing (I still enjoy his music,
but I'm not longer obessive, and I listen to the accursed rock and
roll music much more frequently), and I'm in the process of selling
off most of my collection on eBay (I even tried to sell my copy of
your Prokofiev biography, Daniel, but forces beyond my understanding
kept anyone from bidding on it! Please take mercy on my wretched
soul for attempting such foul sins!). I'll provide more info on that
later.

I'd make another plea for someone to take on my moderatrixship, but
I've done that so many times with the sole result being "We love you,
our fair and beautiful moderatrix! Do not leave us, or we will be
lost without your guiding light!" Or at least that's the way I
remember it, I haven't been sleeping well recently so my memory is
less than accurate. So I will continue to lead you, even though it
goes against all logic, since there are people on this group that I
feel would make much better (not to mention saner) moderators than I
do.

I part with these words of advice: Never move to Utah. Ever. Not
for any reason. And Tequiza tastes like beer with Astro-Glide (or
dishwashing soap, for those who are too vanilla to know what Astro-
Glide is) in it, so don't drink it. I have learned these lessons
the hard way, and would never wish such a horrible fate on anyone, so
trust me.

Your Moderatrix,
-K
