I bought the Revelation disc of the Richter
performances of the War Sonatas because it was the
only source I was aware of that combined all three on
one disc. I imagine that there may be recordings with
Richter in these works from various venues (I was
unable to link to your review on my computer to check
if they are the same). It would be interesting to
hear what, if any, interperative differences there are
if other recordings exist.
The Revelation label was only around for a short time
and issued some very interesting recordings (on what
other label can you hear Britten's Spring Symphony in
Russian?), including some Prokofiev.
Sorry to hear about your boyfriend. Perhaps during
your November trip you'll discover some interesting
Prokofiev recordings. Then all you have to do is find
someone new to make copies for you!
