Hello, I'm new obviously.
I'm no stranger to Siviet music, which is why I'm here. I have a
question to pose to those knowledgable: Does anyone know the details
surrounding Prokofiev's death in March of 1953? There's a bit of a
controversy going down over at the Shostakovich group and I do not
have time to properly research this. Any insight wld be appreciated.
Also, my favorite work is the Alexander Nevsky Cantata. Next, most of
his eccentric piano pieces, not the sonatas, those take on a different
tone entirely. Romeo & Juliet, of course, which is coming to St. Louis - I
plan to go to:)
Yours, Dave
