To continue what I just said in my last
message:

Personally, I value all human life, which is why I also
oppose the death penalty. However, I support the
individual's right to defend himself or herself by all means
necessary especially in cases where there is clear
malicious intent on the other party's part to cause
grievous bodily harm to you.

Everyone has the
right to self-preservation, but only in cases when the
perceived threat to one's life makes a conscious, malicious
attempt to physically harm you. Unborn babies are
innocent creatures who do not make conscious malicious
attempts to harm their mothers' lives. They have committed
no crime. Being conceived is not a crime. They did
not ask to be conceived. They had no choice in being
conceived. If anything, it was their parents who are
responsible for conceiving them, so they, the parents, have
an obligation to do everything in their power to
preserve the life of their unborn child. By choosing to
abort the child, the parents are actually being very
childish and selfish as they are effectively trying in
vain to absolve themselves of all responsibility for
bringing the child into being. It's like they're saying,"I
got myself into this mess, I don't want to take
responsibility for it." And mainstream society is very foolish
to encourage this kind of childish mentality where
everybody thinks they can rid themselves of the
conscience-troubling truth that they are responsible for the mistakes
they've made by offering a means of disposing what they
think is the cause of their guilt. They don't realise
that the baby is not the cause of their guilt, rather
it is the realisation that it is their wrong choices
which put them in such a predicament, that is real
source of their guilt. Aborting the child won't make
such knowledge that they've screwed up go away. If
anything, it will only add more pain and distress and guilt
to the already troubled girl or woman, that is if
they're really conscious of the truth of what has
happened. If the guilt of knowing you've made a mistake in
allowing yourself to have intercourse when you were not
ready for it is already bad enough, just imagine the
terrible anguish women go through when they realise that
they've allowed their unborn child to be killed because
of the first mistake. Two wrongs simply do not make
a right.

That's why I agree with Feminists
for Life that the condoning of the practice of
abortion plays into the hands of oppressive patriachal
social structures in that abortion allows men the unjust
"freedom" to relinquish their responsibility as fathers
towards their own children and their mothers. It allows
men the false liberty to love 'em and leave 'em, with
no strings attached. And women who agree to go
along, or are forced to go along with this totally
childish and irresponsible anti-life attitude, are
wittingly or unwittingly helping to reinforce and
perpetuate this vicious cycle of patriachal oppression and
exploitation of women. So this means that everyone who is
"pro-choice" is also party to this vicious cycle of oppression
of women and destruction of children.

After
all this has been said, can anyone really say that
the "pro-choice" attitude is really just to women and
children? It's not even just to all right-thinking men for
that matter, for no self-respecting, decent man would
want to be party to a culture or false philosophy that
promotes the continued oppression of women and the
destruction of children.

For more info on Feminists
