We haven't been playing so much, but it is the slow season... we've
been up to no good in the recording studio with our old drummer
PanMan. The plan is to have a new CD as soon as possible! Finally
a CD with new material!
We've also been increasing our gear collection lately. Bob Bitchin'
got a cabinet, The Brett Cole got a dual showman, and I got a new
guitar! Check the guitar out:

Hey All,
there are shows that come and go at the Hotel Utah. Some I'd like
to see, and others I don't get bebt about missing.
But this last one with Pyronauts(with Pans last performance)(again?)
And Pollo Del Mar, and the Meshugga Beach Party(which I've never
seen) really seemed like it was gonna be a spectacular show. I'm
really bummed I missed it. But Glad to hear it was a good turnout
and an entertaining show for everyone. I saw the pics on sg101.
And it looked Great. Although I did get to see the LSJ's x-mas
pagent, and I'd like to think that I and a couple others on their
yahoo group, bent their ear enough after 3 years years of East Coast
only, to finally bring it out West.
Hope you all had a good Holidays, and Have a Happy New Year.
Hope to see you all again soon,

Ferenc,
Our Christmas wishes to you! We owe a great deal of our success in
SF to you, Ferenc. It is so hard to find a surf friendly venue, but
your relationship with Hotel Utah has paid off for many a surf band!
So much of what The Pyronauts are becoming today is from watching
great bands like Slacktone, Insect Surfers, and Pollo Del Mar (my
three favorite bands) at the Hotel Utah.
I'm proud to report that The Brett Cole is feeling much better... at
Denny's on the way home after the show he had a Belgian Waffle with
strawberry and whipped cream topping!
Thanks to all who attended and made it so much fun. To be honest in
past years I dreaded playing the Christmas tunes, but this year I
spent some time (avoiding studying for Finals) and actually
practiced. It paid off!
Merry Surfin' Christmas to all, and to all a Splashing New Year!

That was a really great show! You guys really pulled it off in spectcular style,
I am so
impressed with musicianship. I hope The Brett is feeling better. Pan was roickin

Thanks for the kind words Jeff. We were just glad to be there for
Phil. We only met him a few years ago, but he has been with us since
our start. Maybe we can finally get another tour together for next
summer. Hit the Baja Cantina and Suzy's again.
Thanks again!

Hey Pyro's,
good to see ya at the Phil Dirt tribute show, very bummed you
weren't able to play. I felt bad, that Billy and I got to get up
there with the Insects, but there wasn't time for the jam at the end.
I knew it should have started earlier in the evening. But there was
that wedding, and alot of people go there at 9 pm or later, missed
John Blair/Marty Tippens, and Dave Wronski, and some missed the
Glasgow Tiki Shakers too. I.e. Doug, late as always.
ttyl, hope to see ya down here again,
Jeff(btd)
p.s. if ya want to play at the Surf Museum e-mail me and I'll put you
in touch with the Linda( the Museum ent. booker) for next summer.

This just in:
We've been hearing rumors that if Hawaiian attire is worn to the
fair on opening day (Fri Aug 12th) that your admission price will be
lower. Although we haven't been able to varify this, why not do so
anyway?
Here is a list of our performances at the State Fair:
Aug 12th at 3 and 4pm.
Aug 13th at 4pm.
Aug 16th at 6pm.
Aug 17th at 4pm.
Aug 18th at 5pm.
Aug 19th at 3, 4, and 5pm.
Aug 23rd at 4 and 8pm.
Aug 24th at 5 and 8pm.
Aug 26th at 4 and 5pm.
Aug 28th at 4 and 5pm.
Aug 31st at 5pm.
Sep 2nd at 4pm.
Sep 4th at 2pm.
Sep 5th at 2pm.
All shows are 45mins in length and will be located at the Kitchen
Craft Stage. Entering from the Main Gate immediately turn left and
walk towards the food area. From the West Gate walk straight to the
fountain, hang a left walking straight to the main gate, and then
turn right towards the food area. From the East Gate walk around
the arena by making two right turns ending up in the food area. The
following link is a map of Cal Expo, but it doesn't show our stage.
The best we can figure is that the Kitchen Craft Stage is located
near the Administration Building.
