I guess we're both unclear :) What I ment by "software DVD-A player" was
using a DVD rom and software to hear a DVD-A vs using dedicated hardware,
the same way software DVD-video playback work.

Which is one

That's good to hear...wonder if they make a Linux version?

I can't remember the model numbers of any of my Sanyo gear, for what it's
worth, I remember my Pioneer QX-8000 as doing a good job decoding stuff
despite being logic-free. I don't know if I mentioned it, but my
Superscope reciever developed some noise in the rear channel, so I figured
it was time to get the Sansui fixed. Well, I got it going and have been
using it for TV watching as well as quad listening. It has a a couple
Synthisizer modes for 2->4 channel operation, one is QS based. It does a
good job picking up the Dolby stuff off of TV or at least making me thing
it is :)
