The show at the "Mural Ampitheater" was great. The set was very
short, but I think if Rail played every one of their songs I still
would want to hear "just one more".
The sound was a little rough here and there, but overall was enough
to get the point through. (It did however irritate me that Kelly's
left kicker was inaudible through the first half of the set. Even
during "Sirens") Aw heck, that's live!
Rail was as hard and HEAVY as always. Or maybe I should say that
they had an even heavier edge than I've heard out of them for many
years. Terry's voice was strong and flawless as ever. One of the
highlights for me was "Don't Run Away". I love the different
arrangement used on that song. Plus Andy used a keyboard part instead
of the guitar going into the bridge. What a nice move that was!
The song list was missing a few I really wanted to hear. My favorite
all time Rail song, "Make Me" didn't make the list, but given the
short time they had to play it was done very well.
The last time I saw Rail was also at the mural stage back when they
were releasing "Big World". I can only hope that Rail will have a
follow up someday. How these guys aren't bigger than U2 or Van Halen
is beyong me. :)
