Re: They Played in Tempe Az. in 2003/Controversy

Always good to give credit to musicians and their contributions. No
controversy here though, because all of us musicians get ideas from
the world around us. A guitar player copies a Jimmy Page lick but
never mentions that that lick influenced his
playing...example...Song of Solomon is in open G tuning and has some
similar moving chords over drone notes as does Rain Song. Rain Song
is even played on stage next to Song of Solomon.

The guys in the Reich have not gone out of their way to give credit
to local influences because their main focus was on national groups
as was Rail's. I think all of us are products of the world around
us from both musical and situational experiences. If true, then of
course, Rail had some impact on Queensryche, because Rail was a
major regional band playing hard rock and metal. However, the Reich
Guys are on their own creative, professional journeys
and Rail was one of thousands of influences.

It sure is cool to see the positive energy about Rail. Spokane is
on the map for next Spring / Summer. More songs are being written
and recorded as we speak. The musical journey continues...
