hi there
well isnt this strange, i live in Australia and became a fan of the
Rankins because a good friend in canada sent us some of thier
music!!..we loved it of course and a few years later had a trip to
Canada and as we were in New Brunswick we just had to go and see
Rankin country in Nova Scotia, and it was well worth the trip, we
thought the same as jo, as we travelled the Cabot Trail, all the
little towns were in the Rankin songs, We drove up and down GILLIS
MOUNTAIN!!, with the rankin music blaring, crazy Aussies huh.
we stumbled on Mabou quite by accident after stopping at cheticamp
for an awesome lobster lunch (what else eh.lol), and as we drove
further down i wanted to get a few souveniers so we stopped in a cute
little shop and my husband found a jimmy rankin CD we didnt have and
the lady said to us, if your a rankin fan, then you have to stop at
the red shoe in Mabou, the girls run the shop. so we did , and we
even got to sit and chat, and get a pic with Raylene, she is so very
nice and it made our trip even more memorable!. not only did we
travel in rankins country , all the way from aus , but got to meet
one of them.
i would reccomend it to any fan .
mary
