Brandy Gears Up For New Release
November 28th, 2003
It's been two years since Brandy's last project "Full Moon" and this
coming March she plans to follow it up with a new release. March 2nd
2004 is the date Brandy will release her new album, yet to be titled.
The first single is set to hit radio just in time for Christmas with
the video to premiere in mid-January. The lead single has yet to be
confirmed at press time but could be a toss between two singles "Who
is She 2 U" and "Afrodisiac" both produced by Timbaland. However the
radio buzz single has been confirmed and released to radio, "Turn it
Up" another single produced by Timbaland is currently playing around
the country. In the lyrics Brandy sings "cause I don't wanna sound
familiar, want a guaranteed single, not an album filler." Making some
think she is making a reference to Rodney Jerkins who executive
produced Brandy's last two albums, but does not contribute any tracks
to her new set. Timbaland stated to MTV earlier this year that Brandy
was talking about Rodney in some of the new tunes. The new Brandy
album also includes work & appearances from Ray-J, Sean Paul, Lloyd
Banks, Fabolous and of course some surprises that will be kept under
wraps till closer to the release. Brandy will also duet with Usher on
his-upcoming release "Confessions." According to Usher's camp the two
are in talks for a joint tour that would kick off next summer, at
this time nothing is confirmed or set.
***Elsewhere in the Norwood family, Ray-J is also planning on
releasing his new album "Raydiation" next spring. The album will
introduce the world to the KnockOut family - Detail, Shorty Mack &
Young Buck. KnockOut Entertainment is Ray-J's record label which will
release the "Raydiation" album as it's first project. Project's from
Shorty Mack & Young Buck will soon follow. Willie Norwood Sr. the
father of Brandy & Ray-J is also expected to follow up his debut
CD "Bout It" with a new release next year as well. ***
