Join the campaign to get Virgin Records to re-release
Joe Strummer's sound-track to the Alex Cox film 1987
_Walker_!
While interviewing Antonino D'Ambrosio, the author of
a new book on Joe Strummer (
www.letfuryhavethehour.com ), for my radio show I
found out that he has been in conversation with Alex
Cox (also directed _Repo Man_ and _Sid and Nancy_)
and they've decided to start a music lover's campaign
to get this record re-released.
The name of the person we are trying to lobby is Paula
Woofle, her email address is:

Below is a sample email-- cut & paste it if you want,
but CHANGE it up so the effort looks sincere:

Ms. Woofle,
I'm writing you as a music fan who would really love
to see Joe Strummer's sound-track to the 1987 film
Walker released on CD. I owned the album several years
ago and deeply loved the music. I know a lot of people
who would buy it if it were re-released, and I know
that the album gets talked about a lot amongst people
who love Strummer's music. Sadly a lot of us have been
separated from our vinyl collections and the means to
play vinyl. I'm also sure that if marketed
successfully it would get a lot of attention as Joe
Strummer's lost masterpiece. If Virgin won't
re-release it, perhaps
you can sell it to a small label who can get it before
the public.
Thanks very much for your time!
Sincerely,
