A Remake of the Fleetwood Mac Classic 'The Chain' to be Released
by Rocker JAK PARIS and REBA Star Scarlett Pomers

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

"The Chain," the second single from the debut album by JAK PARIS,
Electric Revolution, debuted on Mix 94.1 (KMBX, Las Vegas) June 25
and is scheduled to hit Hot AC and Modern Rock stations worldwide
July 11. The Chain was released originally in 1977 by rock super
group Fleetwood Mac and became an anthem for the band.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) June 27, 2006 -- When Las Vegas based
Pop/Modern Rock band JAK PARIS released their debut CD Electric
Revolution March 28th, 06, it was apparent that they would have to
be extremely aggressive at promoting their music to compete with
major label releases. Through radio, the Internet, hard work and
dedication, Electric Revolution is being well received by critics,
fans and Hot AC radio that have labeled them as the new band to
watch for.

In March 2006 JAK PARIS released N.B.D. (Not Back Down), the first
single from Electric Revolution. With this release, JP began earning
the attention of radio stations and music reviewers as the video was
added to MTV2's Hot Tracks On Demand and has aired on several
National TV shows such as Access Hollywood, and Entertainment
Tonight. N.B.D. made a splash and earned the attention of the music
industry plus received well-noted radio airplay helping the song
enter the Hot AC top 100 Billboard singles charts.

As a follow up JAK PARIS is set to release their second single, a
modern version of Fleetwood Mac's mega hit The Chain. JP
collaborated with actress (REBA) Scarlett Pomers in an effort to
bring attention to her charity Arch-Angels fund. Pomers established
Arch-Angels, a dedicated fund within the National Eating Disorders
Association (NEDA), to support the ongoing efforts to raise
awareness and funds for education, advocacy, and research. The
result of the collaboration is a rock 'n' roll single in the truest
sense with cross over appeal that will surely position their second
single.

It was recently announced that JAK PARIS would be performing at 2006
RockFest in Lake Havasu City, AZ on the second stage October 7th
(Black Crowes) and the main stage October 8th (Lit). See lineup @

Review: Petty didn't back down to Pearl Jam

Music reviews
Review: Petty didn't back down to Pearl Jam

Review: Odd musical couple take their time to come together

Sir Paul takes a lap through great songs

Concert review: White Stripes low on frills, big on thrills
It's the most anticipated Twin Cities rock event of the summer, and
Xcel Energy Center's biggest cross-generational bill since the Rock
for Change concert in 2004. Even though the first of two shows
Monday by Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Pearl Jam didn't come
off as anything all that historic, it did make a great two-fer
package.

For the price of a typical single-headliner arena gig -- but a bit
more than these famously fan-friendly acts usually charge -- the
16,000 attendees saw full sets by two staples of American FM rock
radio. Each delivered on the hits, too: "Free Fallin',"Refugee,"I
Won't Back Down" and "American Girl" in Petty's
case; "Alive,"Jeremy,"Daughter,"Better Man" and "Even Flow" from
Pearl Jam.

The younger veterans actually drew a rowdier response than Petty and
company, who lined up the '90s rockers for six shows to commemorate
their 30th anniversary. But most of the crowd was too busy singing
along to all the hits to keep score.

Pearl Jam's 85-minute set kicked off with five of its grungiest and
feistiest album cuts, including "Last Exit,"Life Wasted"
and "Evolution." But as the Seattle quintet turned more anthemic
with "Given to Fly," it quickly became obvious that Monday's sellout
crowd was made up of more of its fans. The concertgoers even knew
the words to the band's newest songs.

As on much of Pearl Jam's current self-titled CD, frontman Eddie
Vedder skewered Republican leaders in "World Wide Suicide." However,
he made safer comments between songs, perhaps out of deference to
the typically apolitical Petty. He dedicated "Army Reserve" to the
soldiers "dealing with an intense situation" in Iraq and --
curiously -- sent the finale of "Rockin' in the Free World" to
billionaire philanthropist Warren Buffett.

Vedder repeatedly showed his appreciation for Petty, too, and even
sang a few bars of "I Won't Back Down."

"We have a group of fans who travel around the country to see us,"
he said. "Now we're gonna be doing that for a couple weeks --
traveling around to see Tom Petty."

As it turned out, the Rock Hall of Famer, 55, had no problem getting
the younger crowd on his side. Basically, anyone with a car stereo
knows his songs, a point proven by the opening tunes, "Listen to Her
Heart" and "You Don't Know How It Feels."

His set was better than a predictable hits package, though. He
previewed a few songs from his upcoming CD, "Highway Companion,"
including "Saving Grace," which had a Bo Diddley boogie. That was
followed by an actual Diddley tune, "I'm a Man," plus a gritty
version of the early Fleetwood Mac nugget "Oh Well."

"You lucky people have a genuine, all-American rock show tonight,"
Petty boasted -- and that was well before he brought Vedder back
onstage to sing "American Girl" with him and the Heartbreakers.

Big Freakin' Deal turns out to be just that

By BILL WHITE
SPECIAL TO THE P-I

Kiss 106.1 pulled out the stops for its 2006 Big Freakin' Deal at
the KeyArena Sunday night, where the music ranged from Nick Lachey's
emotive farewell to Jessica Simpson to Pink's declaration of
independence from just about everything.

MUSIC REVIEW
BIG FREAKIN' DEAL 2006

with All-American Rejects, Pink, Nick Lachey, Rihanna, Ashley Parker
Angel, Aly and AJ, and Teddy Geiger

WHERE: KeyArena

WHEN: Sunday night

New-American Rejects topped off the six-hour party with a dose of
boyish fun. A crowd that should have been exhausted was on its feet
and dancing through a 35-minute set mostly drawn from last
year's "Move Along." The music was fairly generic, with roots in
Green Day and Oasis, but the band's energy made it all seem new.

Unlike many multiact concerts, in which an endless stream of
newcomers sing two or three songs to backing tracks, most of the BFD
performed with full bands and high-quality sound in 20- to 40-minute
sets that played like miniconcerts.

Pink didn't waste a second of her 40 minutes. Dressed in a leopard-
print dress that was held together by a black sash, she performed
half of her new album, "I'm Not Dead," and some earlier tunes.
On "Stupid Girls," she mimed the demeaning sexist poses on which so
many women build their careers, and her backing singers did a fair
job of filling in for the Indigo Girls on "Dear Mr. President." She
treated "Nodody Knows" like a powder keg with her voice as the
blasting caps, and reminded everybody what the words "hit single"
mean with her current one, "Who Knew."

Beefy heartthrob Lachey preceded her with five songs from "What's
Left of Me." This love letter and farewell to ex-wife Jessica
Simpson might have won her back had she been in attendance. The
thousands of swooning girls who screamed through the 30-minute set
were definitely won over by the former 98 Degrees singer.

Ashley Parker Angel, another boy-band refugee, gave him some
competition with surfer-boy looks and teenie-punk attitude.

For the boys, there was Barbados singer Rihanna, whose new
single, "Unfaithful," is heating up summer radio. Singing to backing
tracks provided by a disc jockey, she and her two backup singers
came off as a low-rent version of Destiny's Child, but there is some
untapped star power here just waiting to be repackaged.

Newcomers Aly and AJ tore up the house with "Chemicals React," a
single so hot that last year's debut, "Into the Rush" is slated for
a re-release with extra tracks this August. The two blonde
bombshells have a synergy not unlike Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie
and Stevie Nicks. Both are multi-instrumentalists as well as
singers, and "I Am One of Them," a song dedicated to missing
children, climaxed with both of them on the floor playing conga
drums.

Teddy Geiger had the difficult job of opening the show while the
sound people were still tweaking the dials.
