Wow! That was fun! Went to the Little Fox Theater in Redwood City, CA, for
blues jam session. Signed up to get on stage. Got called, played, played some
more. Real fun. Got invited back.
I played one ebony and one ox bone both hands. They were plenty loud enough to
be mixed in from 3 feet behind mic. Overall about 200 - 250 in the audience.
Had some impromptu jams between sets also. Played some harmonica along with the
bones. I even tried holding a shaker and bones in one hand and playing the
harmonica in the other. With a little more practice, I'll be ready for BF.
Guess I'll bring my mic and amp for the harmonica.
The bones fest timing is good, but, if it were to be a little earlier my kids
wouldn't be starting school and I could bring the family. Ohwell.
Any other players reports out there?
At the blues jam I got a lot of comments like: "what are those", "never seen
those before", "how do you do that", and the ones I really liked, "show me how
to play". I taught 3 people how to snap, rattle and roll.
If you happen to come by the bay area, Every Wednesday at the Little Fox Theater
7 - 11pm is blues jam session.
