Brother Bones CD: Beware!   Message List

There's a CD out called "Globetrottin' With Bones" by "Brother Bones
and His Shadows." Sounds exciting, but it's simply a collection of
low-fi samples from the web, burned onto a CD. Read the review on
this Amazon.com web page:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007WBDL6/qid=1163672673

So instead of buying this record, just download the tracks from here:

http://www.whistlingrecords.com/brother_bones/brother_bones.htm

The CD is from the "Acrobat" label, I'm planning on writing them and
letting them know how I feel about this. Also, the album is on
eMusic, a very cool site which has a lot of old and non-mainstream
music available for legal downloads (the artists get paid) relatively
cheaply:

http://www.emusic.com/album/10970/10970873.html

I'm going to let eMusic know about this ripoff as well. The music
may be in the public domain if it's old enough, but it's still a
pretty dodgy business practice, I think.

I share Jeff's desire for wanting high fidelity recordings of vintage bones players. In fact, I would really like to see a top quality audio CD of Brother...

I have to agree with the copy right protection of the Brother Bones content. If you download, listen to or burn a CD copy to listen in your car, you have the...

... Well, it appears to me that's exactly what the Acrobat label has done! I can't imagine a company buying the rights to some music, and then using lo-fi...
