BLACK CAT BALL BENEFITS
ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANIZATION
Saturday October 23
Redwood City, CA -- The local animal rescue organization, Humanimal
Connection announced today that plans are proceeding beyond
expectation for the inaugural edition of their "Black Cat Ball," a
dinner/dancing/silent-auction Halloween time extravaganza, being held
Saturday, October 23 at the Peninsula Yacht Club in Redwood City.
The event will feature a buffet diner, prepared by Yacht Club chef
Emilio Diaz, as well as dancing to a DJ and live belly dancing by
Melissa Ramirez. Members of the local music group known as
RhythmXchange will perform African and Latin drumming. In addition
to the planned entertainment, The Black Cat Ball will feature a
silent auction with valuable items ranging from a stay the Atherton
Inn, to fine wines, to gift certificates from local pet stores.
Prizes for best and worst costume and even no -costume.
Event organizer Bob Gelman explained why this event is important,
stating, "It's a rare opportunity for the community to get together
for fun and to do something wonderful for a terrific local charity.
"Not only will the food and drink be great, but the sunset views of
the bay and the mountains from the Peninsula Yacht Club are really
nice. "This location is one of the best kept secrets of the
Peninsula," he added.
Tickets to the Black Cat Ball are $35 and are fully tax deductible.
They are available on the organization's website:

Humanimal Connection, beneficiary of the proceeds of the event, is an
animal rescue organization that specializes in finding good homes for
all kinds of cats...and sometimes other animals. They are a 501c3
non-for-profit California corporation that has been working since
1998 to facilitate healthy, helpful relationships between people,
animals, and the environment.
In 1998, sisters Susan Brown and Judy Baker were called upon to help
rescue the feral cats at Bay Meadows race track when they were in
danger of injury, death, or simply homelessness due to the major
construction going on there. Successful in those efforts, they felt
they could serve a valuable niche in the community by helping in ways
that other shelters can't or don't.
