Here's a little update on our Monday Drum Circle...

Stan Horspool will be our official host.
His daughter, Naomi will be teaching the Samba lesson at 6.30 (come early!)
Patter will be doing a special occasion version of his memorable
circle facilitation
And for those who enjoy a magical mystery tour now and then, I have
something planned for later in the evening (bring a drum you can walk
and play, or handheld percussion).

This will be a special event.

Dear friends,

Don't freak out...the 12/4 is not really the meter we're playing in
this month (unless you want to)...it refers to the twelfth month and
the fourth year, on the thirteenth day of which is RhythmXchange's
big blowout blast of the season.

That's right drummies, shakers, & tappers of feet...our holiday-time
event is Monday, December 13, at the good ol' senior center
(directions below). And it's a really special one because of all the
reasons below and more:

This week, it's Mahin's Birthday
On the 17th, it's Bobby G's birthday (wow, really?)
For Christians--Christmas is this month!
For Muslims--Eid was recently here
For Jews--Chanukah is happening
For Pagans--it's solstice time
For Buddhists--it's always joy
(if I've left out anyone's personal holiday, let me know)

It's also very special because it will mark the end of an era for our
community. Our relationship with the senior center is probably going
to be changing (more details on that soon) and other changes in the
community will become evident as the year draws to an end. So let's
see it off with a bang! And a boom, and a ram-a-lama-ding-dong!
Shall we?

Wear your funky holiday finest (yes, costumes are encouraged) and
remember to bring a dish to
share, but come hungry to enjoy some great dishes and libations.

Non-structured Program for the evening:
*6:30-7:00 Samba!
*7:00-8:00 drum facilitation (Patter & others)
*8:00-8:30 food-potluck
*8:30-9:15 free drum and dance
*9:15-9:30 Bob's Magical Mystery Tour
*9:30 clean up (all pitch in please)
homeward bound

For those of you who are not aware, the community has agreed to a bit
more structure to our events. While an informal schedule, the plan
above is intended to allow us to include activities that really
enhance our experience.
