Hello to EVERYONE and Happy New Year!
Just wanted to let everyone know that the Santa Cruz First Night
celebration was a fun, wet night. It was ironic that the theme was
"Rivers of Life". The streets turned into streams of glistening
tributaries. The afternoon circle got rained out but we all continued
anyway. We were all pleasantly soaked with smiles on our faces. Thank
the gods for Remo drums! As usual the community drummers brought up
the end of the parade with Arthur leading the way. Even though it
rained we all had a blast. Thanks to all the hardy souls who came out
and made the night a success. I had the wonderful opportunity to play
the big dundun drums and was tranced out...loved it! Thanks to Harper
for pushing the cart...By 6pm it was down pouring. I can still see the
handful of us in the pouring rain playing away. Now that's what I call
real community drumming! It will be an evening I will always remember
and laugh about. Thanks to Arthur for being so hardy, fun-loving,
spontaneous and staying right up to the end. Isn't it nice to know we
have this wonderful community of crazy souls who will even drum in the
pouring rain?
Take care and keep on drummin',
Kennedy
