Hi all,
JOYFUL JANUARY
CELEBRATION
Sorry it's taken me a week to get this note
out, but I've been in shock and awe of Richard Saasta's skill and
generosity (Conni Bruni too!) in hosting our first circle away from
the Center...and of course in giving away the wonderful handcrafted
ashiko. (http://rhythmicintentions.com/drum_ashiko_2.htm). Thanks
to both of you and all of you who came out in pouring rain to share a
little food and a lot of percussion!
Of course I plan to express my gratitude by
sharing the drum with all of you at our monthly events. And I hope
you'll take a good look at the drums that Richard & Conni are
offering on their website. It's great to have them in the
community and we should support them by considering their drums when
we are on the hunt for new instruments.
On the subject of our current venue, it's
cozier than the Center, but a bit of a challenge getting the whole
group in your view at once. We'll try a different arrangement
next month and see how that works. And speaking of next
month...
FEMININE FEBRUARY
Our hostess for February will be Fern
Filner, bring a needed feminine inflection to the honor of hosting the
circle. She has not yet revealed what the special event will be,
but you can bet it'll be a fun time. Maybe the fact that the
circle falls on VALENTINES DAY is a clue we should
heed? See you there at 6.30pm on Monday, February 14
at the Peninsula Yacht Club.
OUR NEW NAME
No clear leader has come from the online
poll or the voting that we did at the circle last Monday. We
have been able to whittle the list down and will hold a final poll
online in a few days. The result of that poll will be used to
determine the new name, which will be announced at the February
circle. Watch your email for the note that invites
you to take the poll. Then go vote! It'll only take a
moment, but we may live with the results for along time (only this
election doesn't have neo-cons in charge).
Peace,
Bobby G
