Mark,
Hey thanks for these words...I did not know Baba said
these words. Great package here.
Again, thanks for putting together the the service of
drumming, dance and community for Baba and us. Nice
turn out.The circle with holding the stone and
sharing a few words was a nice touch. Thank you Joy.
Peace
Patter

Hi Patter,
I guess it is time to be removed from your drum circle email group. Can you
do that or do I do that? And if I need to go to Yahoo, are there instructions?

This does not mean I don't want to hear from you again. A personal note is
always nice.
  :-)

Thanks,
Nancy

Baba's Passing.
Baba has touched many hearts all around the Globe. Teaching Peace,
thru drum talk. I am blessed to have met him, drumming with him and
friends in circle. He has opened a door for me, and that I am so
gratefull. His spirit rumbles with us.

Drumies,Shakers and tapper's of feet,
Finaly getting back to you.
The gathering at Bob and Orlene's home on 3/22/03 was a fantastic
event.Thank you Bob and Orlene! We estimated around 100 people
partcipating in one circle or another.
Having Dan play trap set and Marco on bass guitar was an added
feature to the drum circle. Moreover, hearing Brian play the
bagpipes along with Greg on flute/sax with everbody blending some
nice rhythms hit the root chakra.Got to do more!
There was some nice chanting, Melanie along with Mark and Herb on
berembau and rest of the people.Music was inchanting. I wish I could
list every name of every person.
It is so good to see dancers in and around the circle. Lucille and
Rebecca, thanks for getting out there with me to dance. I wish you
could teach all of us how to dance to FONGA. Wow! what a line that
would be....Oh! ya....who would drum? Maxi, thank you for bringing
the rhythm out of us and back to us. It is nice when the groove is
there all around the circle.
We know how the potluck of music went...superb. The potluck of food
was magnificant!!!!. I can't tell you what was in the marinade to
Bob's secret recipe. Mmmmmmmmmmmm There were so many dishes to
choose from. Thank you ALL for bringing food, wine, and a pulse to
this rhythm based event. Again, thank you all who were able to make
this event happen. Thank you for sharing spirit.
Next event will be on 4/14/03 Monday evening at Redwood City
Veterans Memorial Senior Center. Time 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Bring a dish
to share and any instrument that you would like to add to the
rhythms. Tell a Friend. If you have any hand-out materials on events
of workshops...bring them and we can display them on our table.
For the first time, I will be asking for a goodwill donation.
Thanks in advance.

Drummers:

I am organizing a new djembe class in Berkeley and would like to invite
you to participate.

The class is Sundays from 11 to 1:30 at the TUVA Performance Space at
3192 Adeline Street in Berkeley, not far from Ashby Bart. Look for the
large sliding wood doors and the word ANT painted above. The location
is right where MLK and Adeline come together. (TUVA is soon to change
names to JAZZ HOUSE.)

Wade Peterson will teach, possibly with Teina Lucas filling in some of
the time. Both Wade and Teina are phenomenal musicians. Wade has years
of experience playing and teaching djembe and dunun, and has studied on
and off with Mamady Keita, one of the world's preeminent djembe players
(from Guinea). He has played and studied locally with Abdullai Djiakate
(from Senegal) and is currently collaborating with Karamba Diabate (from
Guinea) at Rhythm and Motion in San Francisco. Wade also is also
experienced in Congolese and AfroCuban drumming styles. Teina also has
years of experience as a player and teacher, and has also studied djembe
intensively in Africa. Both have encyclopedic knowledge of West African
rhythms, cultural history, etc. And both have broad general musical
knowledge.

We welcome djembe and dunun players with varying levels of experience.

Because we have gotten interest from both beginners and more advanced
players, the current plan is to divide the class as follows: The first
hour will be geared more to beginners and will focus more on basic
technique and simple rhythms. The second hour and a half will be more
advanced and geared to players with previous experience. Students will
have the option to come either the first or second part or both, and
class cost will be $10 for the first hour, $15 for the second hour and a
half, or $20 for the full two and a half hours.

Please confirm with me as soon as possible if you are interested in the
class. Also, please indicate your experience level and whether you have
a djembe, dunun, or other drums. (415-356-8593 wk, 510-533-5111 hm or

sites at: www.thewavesight.net or www.marhatis.com. Please do not worry about
receiving excess e-mails. I only send them out for the monthly lectures and the
workshops and events. The list is very private and not shared with anyone else.
I hope to see you soon at the next event!

2) I want to thank all of you who have and are assisting in my transitions to
bring in greater light to this earthplain. The first phase of this project has
been completed and the next is right now! In celebration of this event, I am
offering full service full hour channeling session for the celebration price of
$35. (Originally $65). For information on the benefits of having a channel
session, please visit: www.marhatis.com/channeling.html. Gift certificates are
also available and have been very popular.

3) WAVE has made it through the transitions of its first year and is now
structured through the light of Marhatis. Marhatis is the energy that joined me
as I surrendered to the light within the great pyramid, Egypt, four years ago.
Marhatis is the three Goddess guides who assist me with my visions...Mother
Mary, Hathor, Isis = Marhatis. The new logo is a combination of the Marhatis
logo casting light onto the WAVE logo within a sacred triangle. It will be
presented as " Presented by WAVE through the Light of Marhatis". The events of
WAVE will be fuller and include co-created lectures and workshops and may have
mixed events in one evening. Drumming and Dancing will also be included. In
April of 2003, the Center will be moving to a larger space within the same
complex. I will be sending out information when the move is complete. Anyone who
may be able to help move, paint and create, please call me at 650-632-1700.
Thanks!

4) Please visit the web sites: www.marhatis.com and www.thewavesight.net. There
is a section on the WAVE site dedicated to "The Creatives". This is where I will
post your artwork, poems, short stories, books, paintings, CDs, jewelry,
anything creative...at no charge to you. www.thewavesight.net/creatives.htm.
There is another section, "Shared Info" where I post, for free, events,
announcement, articles and communications from around the world.
www.thewavesight.net/shareinfo.htm. Please feel free to send me your info! This
site is for everyone!

Co-Creation of the Peace Mandala

Co-creation of the Peace Mandala
Mandala Meditation

Free Form Drumming & Dancing
(If you are just joining us for drumming, that will start approximately at

Peace...It's All About You
When we cry out to the divine for peace, the angels respond with "What kind of
Peace?" Yes, peace is not just a single entity it is the combination of
individual peace beliefs from within each being. Knowing exactly what brings
peace for you in your life makes the noble cry for peace proactive. Don't think
for a second that your needs for personal peace are selfish or unrealistic. It
is the focused intension for self peace that creates the action for world peace.
It becomes a collective definition of peace. We can't expect peace without
knowing what it means for each of us deep in our hearts.

Please join Rev. Maxi for the creation of the Peace Mandala, the anchoring in
of the definitive peace. You will be guided to find your own peace within and to
expand that peace to the world, creating a protective matrix of peace for the
entire planet.

In this evening, you will also learn how to ground your energies and anchor your
light on the planet. You will learn how to reclaim and activate your personal
energies. We will discuss how to be emotionally present, safe and powerful in
this pressing time of disarray. We will see why war was placed on the plate of
solutions as we create other options.

Once the Mandala is complete, we will sit in circle around it and be guided to
connect our definitions of peace into a collective thought and released to the
world with the inspiration of Dijeridoo music (hopefully live). The completed
Mandala will be transferred to color copy and to a computer file to be e-mailed
to all who created it to send and share "The Definition of Peace". Those of you
who would like to send it to the world leaders are welcomed to do so. Free form
drumming will follow as celebration.

I Asked...I Received!
Through a meditation, Maxi asked the question of why war was being presented as
a solution and why the cries for peace were not being heard. Her guidance lead
her to the following message:

1) Teach beings to be safe within themselves and not feed the fear that is
intruding upon the great shift of consciousness.

2) Teach beings how to commit their energy to this planet that has chosen them
to walk her soil. Be truly in the body. This is necessary to shift the
energies.

3) Teach beings to find, claim and own their own energy. Teach them how to use
it and how to overflow into others.

4) Define the meaning of Peace, individually and bring that forth. Start within
and bring it without. Give them a visual project to focus their hearts and bring
the collective forward in love, compassion and personal truth.

What to Bring
Please bring images and thoughts of what personal peace is for you. If you have
photos but can't leave them, that's OK. Maxi will scan them for the Mandala.
Bring scissors, tape, colored paper, be creative. Color paper shapes will be
available so bring felt pens to write your peace words. If you would like to
place sacred objects on the Mandala as we create please feel free to do so.
Drums.

Also, the art presentation of The World of Defined Peace will be presented. This
is the channeled vision Maxi received and drew for this project.

Please visit the site for Center Events: www.thewavesight.net/2003events.htm
Watch for the upcoming workshops on Love, Money and Your Life Mission Sacred
Triad. We will also be creating another event with Sophia the Song healer and
Michael Diamond, musician who composes for Stephen Halpren.

Love,
Rev. Maxi

Hope to see many of you in Santa Cruz, CA tonight with the

Drummies,Shakers and Tapper's of Feet,
Looking at the days passing, I feel I should send a message out
to you all. Again, it was a fun evening getting together making
music and sharing spirit.
This last event....not so much dance. Someone wanted to stop the
music
        abruptly
and have each individual introduce themselves.
Not the best timing Patter! Sorry for that one. Maybe next time,
like few people suggested, have each individual introduce them
selves during dinner. Every one of you are important to this
community and I would love to talk and meet each one of you.
However, there is not enough time to do this and enjoy playing music.
To all the folks who have been coming from the get-go,thank you for
jamming and showing your support. What has been added, or new, is
the facilitation part. New to some of you where we explore rhythms
in a fun environment. Some may not want to be facilitated and can
come after 7:30PM for potluck and jam.
The facilitation will start @6:30PM until we break for dinner 7:30PM.
When you hear drum call, it is now open for Jam and dance to a
larger circle. This is a good place to open up to creativity and
bliss by listening to each other. When there is a need for a brief
facilitation prior to a train wreck, I will come into the center and
start something new(transition) and leave the circle and play.
Again I thank you all for being patient and giving your support
while exploring rhythm games and dance.(Rhythmxchange)
The community services department has provided us a room for
promoting a healthy development in mind, body, spirit needs.
Our Mission Statement is to build healthy communities and improve
the quality of life for all.
I invite all who would like to contribute new ideas, new games or
even would like to try facilitating. (It's Fun)!
I welcome all constructive and positive feedback and please share
that information with me after the event or email me at
rhythmxchange@yahoogroups.com or drumdog49@...
Looking forward to seeing you March 10th 2003

In the world of linear learning, we can
feel assured of our progress by means of
information that builds on itself, the
application of that material, and step-by-step
                                                          methodology or
rote memorization.

In the rhythmic music process of Ta Ke T i
Na, we open ourselves to the possibility
of another kind of learning--based on
a deep wisdom that lies in our bodies.

Your body has the ability to hold
different kinds of information simultaneuosly,
without using the analytic mind. Different
worlds can live together in the same realm:
                                hearing and speaking, activity and
stillness, rationality and emotions. Instead of
individual pieces connected one by one,
you have the ability to learn all at once,
making the knowledge appear immediate and
magical. In Ta Ke Ti Na, this newfound
path to learning, can open the door to
creativity, flexibility, connection, and trust in
                                                         a wisdom beyond
discursive thinking.

Successful amateur music and dance troupe is holding auditions for
drummers. We are seeking drummers with familiarity with either
african or mid-eastern styles. I will teach you the rhythms and parts
that we play in a fun, low-stress manner.

The musicians have produced a music CD with the possibility of future
ones. We work regularly at both paid and unpaid shows. Practice is
held weekly in the east bay with drummers and dancers in attendance.

Upcoming shows include Rakkasah in March; Smash Hit in June and
Rakkasah again in July among other outdoor festivals during the

Drummies, Shakers, and tapper's of Feet,
To all of you who were able to come to the second annual Christmas
potluck drum circle, thank you for your presence.
When Penny and I arrived, there was a welcome of the sweetest sounds
of rhythm. Simple and pleasing. Mmmmm.
Everybody brought something into the circle. Each and every one left
with something more......................... Think about it !
A Ryhthmxchange that runs deep and we are still breaking the
surface.

Bob and Orlene, again, thank you for opening your home to us so we
can drum, play, dance, eat and yehaaa! The sounds went out at least
a three block radius. The sheriffs let us know. So we told them we
were going to play another hour, then take it inside. That we
did...ha ! There was magic inside too.
Well I could ramble on and on so I should stop here.

Penny and I want to thank you all for your great support in showing
up to these drum circles by sharing your spirit, and exploring. We
wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a exciting new year.
The drum circle will continue into 2003 every second Monday of each
month. Some drum facilitation, jamming, dance and potluck are on the
menu.
The folks at the Veterans Memorial Senior Center value the
importance of these community events that enrich the body, mind, and
spirit. There is no charge for this room....they have given us this
space. Keep a good thing going while we have it !

Please bring a dish to share, instruments to play. Bring family and
