As an area secretary I kept track of all of the members in the two states I
handled. I published a regular newsletter, sent out special notices when
anything special happened, and distributed photographs to the members.
Sometimes I would sponsor a contest for the members and award small, but
special prizes, usually photographs, books or records. It was a great
experience, and it made me feel part of something extraordinary.
