Tonight - Veronica Falls play free HDIF gig in Brixton
Herešs the latest of our free HDIF gigs in Brixton, this time featuring the
new group from the band that used to be Sexy Kids...
HDIF Presents
Thursday 25th June
Veronica Falls/The 18 Carat Love Affair/Mascot Fight/The Give It Ups
Jamm, 261 Brixton Road, SW9 6LH, 7.30pm, FREE admission
Veronica Falls
Known until very recently as The Draculas, this is the latest band from the
people responsible for Sexy Kids and The Royal We. Expect taut, thrilling
indie pop that sounds like Young Marble Giants tussling with The Delgados.

The 18 Carat Love Affair
How can we not love a band named after a song by The Associates? Featuring
Jim Rhesus of The Subliminal Girls and Kate Dornan of Fosca, this brilliant
London five piece have been described as "music hall electro pop" and
"vaudeville drama folk".

Mascot Fight
A four piece from Derby, Mascot Fight play "indiepop with noisy bits",
influenced by Pavement, Pixies, Dinosaur Jr, The Fall, Belle & Sebastian,
and Idlewild. "They combine the slack aspects of Pavement with the uniquely
UK tongue-in-cheek sense of humour of bands like Los Campesinos!" reckon
Snobšs Music.

The Give It Ups
Give it up fora cool new five piece from south London, who cite the
Vaselines, the Swell Maps, the Mountain Goats and Beat Happening as
influences. Their debut single is out now on Cloudberry records.
