NightLife Digest Music Marathon in honor of Randy Cross
The NightLife Digest Music Marathon in honor of Randy Cross is set for Saturday, January 21st. The Music Marathon will take place at the Shepherdstown Train Station in Shepherdstown WV from 6pm to midnight and will feature 15 different artists or bands.
For over eight years Randy Cross wrote, printed and distributed the NightLife Digest - a monthly publication that listed all the local music venues and included a calendar of live music taking place throughout the Eastern Panhandle. The Digest became the mainstay for anyone interested in finding out who was playing where and when and could be found at local coffee shops, clubs and restaurants. As well as the "venue menu" and the calendar, Cross also wrote articles promoting new venues, festivals, and artists. Cross published the final digest in December of 2005; it was issue #100.
As a thank you to Cross for all the years he single-handedly produced the NightLife Digest, musicians and music lovers have put together the NightLife Digest Music Marathon in honor of Randy Cross. The evening of music will feature performances by David Reid LaFleur, Greg Lloyd, Phil Montgomery, Allegheny Uprising, Rolling Coyotes, Flamingo Road, Lisa Lafferty, Too Many Chiefs, Olivia Maxwell, Ed Barney, Free Wheelin', Treehouse, The Agency, Don Oehser, and The All Star Garage Band.
Admission is a suggested donation of $5 to $10/person, and guests are asked to bring a refreshment to share. Beverages will be available for purchase. For more info contact Cheryl Mansley at 304-702-0554 or river_house@... or Terry Tucker at 304-876-3552.
