Since then, Bresee has played everything from jazz bass and orchestral brass to blues and folk guitar. He’s performed in jazz combos, funk-driven horn bands, full orchestras and choirs. He's given hundreds of solo performances and these days peforms with bassist Maria “Pete” Durgan and percussionist Kirby Yarbrough.
Drawing from a rich musical background, Bresee selects and writes songs in a wide range of styles - from original swing and jazz-influenced pop to country-tinged folk, Appalachian ballads, covers from fellow songwriters, and even Soul and Motown. He’s won numerous songwriting awards, been a showcase artist for C.F Martin Guitars, and is a four-time Washington Area Music Awards nominee.
