Devon Sproule & Jan Smith will be in concert, Sunday, June 17th, at 7:00pm at the Blue Moon Cafe in Shepherdstown, WV. This spring, Virginia-native Devon Sproule celebrates the release of her new CD, Keep Your Silver Shined, produced by Jeff Romano in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hailed by the Philadelphia Inquirer as "One of the most fetching roots records to come down the pike in quite some time," Keep Your Silver Shined highlights Sproule’s talent for combining Appalachian, folk and jazz influences.
The disc features performances by local Virginia musicians including Mary Chapin Carpenter and Paul Curreri (Sproule's husband). Sproule's previous effort, Upstate Songs (City Salvage Records) was included in Rolling Stone's Critics Top Albums of 2003. Jan Smith will be sharing the show with Devon. Smith's musical heritage stems from country, bluegrass, and folk. Her lyrics are poignant, her musical compositions superb, and her silken voice caresses each and every word.
