MUSICAL evening CELEBRATING YOUNG ARTISTS at The Blue Moon Cafe
Dane Galloway Jazz Trio, Kipyn Martin, Brandon & Andrew Smith, and Eric & Logan Hughes
For Sunday, July 1st, Blue Moon Sundays concerts producer, Cheryl Mansley, has put together a special night of music in celebration of young artists. The July first show at the Blue Moon Cafe in Shepherdstown, WV will feature seven young local musicians.
Dane Galloway, of Frederick, Maryland, still a high school student, is already making waves in the world of jazz. Dane will be playing organ/piano and will perform with Anna Meadors on saxophone and Nick Palmisano on drums/percussion. Meadors just graduated from Linganore High School and will be attending Peabody Conservatory of Music next year. Palmisano will be a senior at Linganore High.
Kipyn Martin, a Jefferson County, West Virginia, native, is a music major at Shepherd University. Though the past few years have been occupied by her studies, she continues to write and perform her own songs. After high school graduation, Martin was invited by Cheryl Mansley to open for a few shows. In doing so, Martin met acoustic blues artist, Pops Walker. Since then, she and Pops have shared many a stage. A devout musician, Martin enjoys all aspects of music creation and loves to play! She has been compared to artists such as Joan Baez and Joni Mitchell, but hopes to develop her own unique style as she continues down her musical path.
Brothers Brandon and Andrew Smith of Sharpsburg, Maryland, will also be performing, as will father and son, Eric and Logan Hughes from Charles Town, West Virginia. Eric has been playing guitar and singing for 25 years. His son, Logan, has been playing for five, but is already teaching guitar lessons! Logan plans to attend Shepherd University this coming year and major in music.
Doors open at 5:30pm, dinner is served from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, and the concert begins at 7:00pm. Admission is $10/person @ the door.
