I've compiled a list of all Basho's live performance dates that I could find evidence for. The early Jabberwock and Matrix dates were taken from www.chickenonaunicycle.com, the 1980 Germany ones are taken from the BFBS interview he did there, and all the others have been taken from ads in mostly either the Oakland Tribune or the Argus, which can be searched on www.newspaperarchive.com for a small fee.
There's undoubtedly loads more dates that I haven't come across. I haven't yet been able to search the San Francisco Chronicle, for example. It would also be great to have a look at the Berkeley Barb, as I'm sure there are many more dates listed in there, too.
The list may also make it easier to pursue the possibility of locating any recordings the venues may have stashed away, which is always a possibility.
