Hi Denise!
It's been a week since you posted! I'm sorry to say that I don't
check
in here as often as I used to, but there's still PLENTY of interest
from here! Life has been hectic lately and full of twists, but life
without the RCB is unthinkable! My daughters gave me an iPod for my
birthday, and I've got so much RC music loaded on this thing that I'm
surprised it's not full. Right now I'm listening to 'I Wonder' -
that
song is so beautiful that it literally brings tears to my eyes.
Robert's voice has a power that no one else has, and I've always
found
it impossible to describe. While I was working around the house
today
I heard some songs that I haven't heard in ages ... 'Divided
Heart', 'She's Gone', 'On the Road Down' - each one that came on was
like an old friend! I'm sure I already told this story, but last
summer (actually I think it was the summer
before) Tom & I went to a show and brought our nephew, who has
cerebral
palsy - he's non-verbal, but he loves guitar like you wouldn't
believe. He played air guitar through the entire show, and
afterwards
he was totally in awe when got to meet Robert - I wish you could have
seen the expression on his face when he actually shook hands with the
guitarist he'd watched all night, it was great. We all have so many
memories of Robert, Jim, Kevin and Karl that extend well beyond the
music, and then you put on an album and it all comes back. What a
treasure it was for me to find their music. That's something I've
heard
over and over from people who love this band. So no, I've not lost
interest because once you get put under a spell like this, it never
loses its magic!
Thanks for your post, and I apologize for not responding sooner! How
are things with you - do you have plans to catch any shows this
summer?
Take care!
Jane
