Hi Jane,
Tks for your reply. Haven't checked here in a long while!
I change things up from time to time; presently, 4 of 5 in the player
are RCB (but that's only because last week I bought a CD by a local
bluesman I respect and I'm trying to give it a fair hearing!).
So, recently it's been ShouldaBeen (despite being skippy), Twenty,
SweetPot, Warned, ShameSin. Lots of take-your-breath-away
moments there!
In the car, I'm rotating between RainyMorn, Don'tBeAfr and 1 of the
Pond twins (with dwell time between rotations usually several weeks!).
I'm relatively new to RainyMorn; the triple Tell the Landlord, Little
Boy Big, and All On Your Own is so exciting to me.
Also, fyi, my StrongP is terribly skippy, and my TimeTell came back
from a loan in two pieces! Somehow I don't listen to MidStroll overly
often, even though it was my very first, and the one that sucked me in.
And here's a nice little anecdote for you. Last winter Little Charlie
And The Nightcats played in town, and my been-around guitarist buddy
(and breaker of my TimeWillTell!) introduced me to Rick Estrin. Nice
guy, and super frontman. I couldn't help mentioning that I was an RC
nut, and I was surprised by how intently he looked at me in agreement.
I dribbled on a bit about how I thought that in 50 years (if
civilization doesn't end), people will still be listening to RC, and
he was with me all the way.
So, about a month ago I was surfing through some news about LC&NC --
Charlie's left the road to pursue his love of gypsy jazz, Rick has
found a talented young guitar gun and is soldiering on -- I came
across an interview with Rick. Discussing his songwriting, he
mentioned he was proud to have had some of his songs covered. It turns
out he was a contributor (I'm guessing lyricist, because of his strong
comedic streak) to I'm Just Lucky!
Witlessly yours*,
Neil
