Hello! First of all, I'd just like to welcome the new people to this list-
Most of you are from MD, PA, and CT - Thanks for signing on!
Here is a bit of brief rr news for today:
1) "All Six Senses" is now available online at www.CDBaby.com.
CD Baby has done such a great job with the credit card orders, that I really
wanted to work with them again. I think they provide great services and
advice for indie musicians overall. If you are an artist, you can check out
all that they offer directly at www.CDBaby.net (and they don't even pay me to
say this stuff!)
BTW, "In Progress" (2000) is still available at CDBaby.com, as well.
Thanks to everyone who has been picking up the new music- votes of confidence
have really been great.
Speaking of votes...
2) "All Six Senses" has broken into the Outvoice! internet charts Top 10.
You can vote for the album weekly at www.outvoice.net. Thanks for supporting
the new CD. Let's keep the momentum going!! It really helps create
visibility. Yes!
3) There is a tentative show date at the Sun Music Co., in NYC on Friday,
Oct. 11th. Keep an eye out for confirmation from this list and at
www.robinrenee.com. It's been a while since I've played in NYC, so I hope to
see all you New Yorkers & my North Jersey friends. I'll keep you posted.
4) I am serving as the Entertainment Coordinator for BiZone's Endless
Possibilities Conference to be held on November 15th-17th at Princeton
University. The Friday, November 15th Endless Funk&Dance Party will feature
hip-hop artist Dutchboy and dance band Sister Funk. The Saturday, November
16th All Things Are Possible Cabaret will present the acoustic punk of
Esmirelda, singer/songwriter Allison Tartalia, and the "musical atrocity" of
Moss, my own performance, and more.
Endless Possibilities is a regional bisexual conference for people in NJ, NY,
CT, PA, and DE, and everywhere. It is for bisexuals and their partners,
bi-curious and bi-friendly people, and gay, lesbian, straight, polyamorous,
intersexed and transgendered allies. The keynote speaker will be writer,
editor, and sexuality activist Cecilia Tan. For more information and to
register for the conference, visit www.bizone.org/con2002. Those interested
in joining us just for the entertainment are more than welcome. More info to
come.
5) I recently received this quote on another list. It moved me, so I would
like to share its wisdom.
<<
Sharon Salzberg,
Loving kindness
The great Indian teacher Nisargadatta Maharaj once said, "Wisdom
tells me I am nothing. Love tells me I am everything. Between the two
my life flows." "I am nothing" does not mean that there is a bleak
wasteland within. It does mean that with awareness we open to a clear,
unimpeded space, without center or periphery - nothing separate. If we
are nothing, there is nothing at all to serve as a barrier to our
boundless expression of love. Being nothing in this way, we are also,
inevitably, everything. "Everything" does not mean self-aggrandizement,
but a decisive recognition of interconnection; we are not separate.
Both the clear, open space of "nothing" and the interconnectedness of
"everything" awaken us to our true nature.
>>
Take care everyone.
Love and Blessings,
Robin Renée
