Just recently they have made a change to the forums. Starting today there is a board to list licks, Theory questions and one for techniques questions. They have also added a forum for guitar gear. This is a site worth checking out, or I wouldn't be active on it and I wouldn't promote so hard. Do yourself a favor and check it out before this group closes. About 19 days left for this group.

Building a website is a piece of cake.
Yahoo! Small Business gives you all the tools to get online.

Not to be a dickhead, but in the interest of full
disclosure, you will get some cash from this by
referring over people from what I read. Having said
that, I did join as it looks very organized and
worthwile.

LOL...Dom..I don't look at you as a dickhead and never will..I AM
actively taking part in the contest...You do not have to join under
the link that I have left. You can go to the opening page and join
for yourself. I have been part of Will Landrum's mailing list for
about 7-8 years now. I was overjoyed when he decided to start a
website that has a goal of accomplishing what this group once
accomplished...helping other people become better musicians. I
believe that his site is the best on the web for this kind of
community. No other website gives the members so much freedom to help
others. Will as a teacher does not need this site, he has others, he
did this for guitarists. I appreciate that. I have been considering
for a while to kill this group, but I could not find another place
for the members to go to get worthy information without having to pay
a Monthly, quarterly or yearly fee. In Will's group I found that, so
even if there was not a contest that offered money to those who got
the most people to join (of course they need 10,000 people to join
before the contest ends...8500 more), I would still push it. You have
options join on my link, or go to the homepage and join that way. I
will send this out as a "special notice" and all members will get it.
I am not going to hide that I am taking part in the contest.Yet I
still believe that the site is the best on the web...FAR FAR better
than Yahoo's groups.

I consider people here to be friends. I ran this group for 7-1/2
years to help others. Now I have someplace for them to go when this
group is gone.

Best Regards to All.

Darin

WELL, --a contest? That's Interesting!!

I don't know the details but find it interesting. I hold no grudge but DO find
it
interesting...

I joined right away (soon as I saw the first email). I and maybe many others
that joined
right away, (while the given link wasn;t functional); had to go to the website
manually.

Is that possibly cosmic karma?

Dave if you search the archives, there has been 2 other times that I
considered ending this group, but when I searched the web, I found
nothing better for the members. This time I did. Contest or no
contest, I would recommend this site to people. Also, I posted that
if anyone wanted this group I would consider handing it over. You
could've asked, but you would rather tell me that it is interesting
that there is a contest at a site....hmmmm. Over the years I have
well over 1000 hours a year running this group and I intend to give
its members the best option for a guitarist community when I close it.

You can feel anyway that you want about the contest, the truth is
that it is the best guitar community online right now and it is free
to you. You have the right to also join the contest. I laid claim to
inviting members because this is my group and I am the one closing
it. I would be inviting and encouraging all here to join with or
without the conest.

Good, honest answer. I did join under your link and
would encourage others as well.
