THE ATTRACTION (Lance Romance, lead vocals; Beaver, bass; Master
John, guitar, Humper T., drums) are riding high from winning "Best
Punk Band" (April 2006 Orange County Music Awards) and "Best Punk
Band" (February 2006 Southern California Music Awards). They were
also finalists in "Best Live Act" (OCMA) and "Best Out Of Area Band"
category at the Inland Empire Music Awards, held in January of 2006.
The band – formed in 2003 -- recently released full-length CD "STEP
RIGHT UP!" (Roundhouse Records) and video, "Drink It Up." Notable
SoCal venues Angels Stadium and Galaxy Theater are among places THE
ATTRACTION have been seen and heard. They call sun-kissed Huntington
Beach, Calif. their home.
Having each survived traumatic life changing experiences, band
members Beaver and Lance both agree that "when death stares you in
the face, it really makes you appreciate life…so we rock every
second of every show as if it's our last." Songs on "STEP RIGHT UP!"
such as "Johnny," "Tales Of A Liar," "Still Breathing" and "Sink Or
Swim" are hard-driving, fiercely personal "life tales." The band
describes their music as "a recipe of equal parts Punk, Reggae,
Garage, Indie, and some Brit-Guitar-Pop, tossed in with a pinch of
spice for a little extra kick, then mixed in a blender and poured
onto a dimly-lit stage…"
A shared, intense passion for music brought the members of THE
ATTRACTION together; their incredible respect for each other formed
a bond of musical talent to be recognized. Their driving sound,
embedded with sincere lyrics and catchy riffs, truly connects the
band with their listeners.
