I'm glad you like it!  Since you brought up the subject, we are currently in need of new cast members.  Open roles are:

Tom Delay

Arnold Schwarzenegger

James Dobson

George W.

Tammy Faye Baker

and Juanita the Hispanic Woman

So if you know anyone who might be interested, have them call Carole Lutness at (661)755-3772.

ROCKWIRED
WITH YOUR HOST
BRIAN LUSH
PRESENTS
MARILYN SCOTT
AND HER CD "HANDPICKED"

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2005
5:00PM (PST)
ON
WWW.KTSTFM.COM

MS. SCOTT is the second jazz singer to be featured on ROCKWIRED and
will not be the last. We're building a reputation for diversity and see
no reason to stop.

HANDPICKED is retrospective of MARILYN's best from 1992 - 2001 brought
to you by PRANA RECORDS and ROCKWIRED can't think of a better artist to
get romantic with. All you have to do is give her renditions of IN YOUR
EYES and THE LOOK OF LOVE a listen to know what we're talking about.
Normally when we're boasting about LOVE BALLADS, we're being sarcastic.

If you've never had the chance to hear MARILYN SCOTT, ROCKWIRED is
giving you the perfect opportunity to catch up on a career that's been
going strong for 10 years.

That's what we're about at ROCKWIRED; Introducing you to the music.

"The Buck Stops Here" had its debut last Sunday late afternoon in the driveway of "the Liebermans."  That's right, in someone's driveway.  I don't pretend that this is legitimate theater or legitimate acting.  It's just a strident, preaching-to-the-choir slam on the Right Wing in musical theater format.  There are a bunch of familiar Broadway tunes with new politicized lyrics.  Sample:  "Hey Big Spendor" is now "Hey Schwartzenegger."  "Food, Glorious Food" is now "Go, Democrats, Go."  On "Hey Schwartzenegger." Me and three other guys dance around in pink slips and at the end of the number we hand Arnold his pink slip.  Get the picture?  There has been talk of bringing the production to public dinner theaters, but as of now the play is only being used as a fund raising tool at Democratic Party organizations.  I'm not claiming this is high art, but it's my entry into "acting."  My main role is Pat Robertson.  I get to spaz out about how "liberals want to ban the Bible" and stuff like that.  And now that he's back in the news I've been given some additional lines.  I'll let you know if/when there are open-to-the-public shows.  Of course, if you are a Democratic organization who wants to hire the troupe for  your function, let me know.

Hey Brian!

I just spent 45 minutes trying to do a proper post the right way through the yahoo group system but I just can't do it.

I just wanted to say that:

The first song I ever wrote and recorded on a multi-track machine was inspired by Bobby Gentry's classic "Ode to Billie Joe."   I aimed for a mood of mystery in a story telling mode.  I thought if I could write something like that Bille Joe song it would be quite an achievement.  "A Natural Thing" wasn't the first song I ever wrote but it's the one I chose to begin my recording career with back in 1978.  It was a four-track reel-to-reel 3/4 inch (maybe 1/2 inch) tape machine in a class at Valley Community College called "Commercial Music Techniques."  Each student had four hours to record all instruments and vocals.  Although I grateful for the experience, much of the class was bogus.  Example: While mixing the song I experimented and explored various parameters, not intending my mixing moves to be final.  The engineer in charge, sick of me by this time, told me that what I did was great and stuck me with a dumb mix.  But it was a start.  I still got an "A" on the project.  I remember the teacher (Don Nelligan) said, "It's repetitive but in a good way."  Thank you Bobby for the inspiration.  I still love that Billie Joe song!

ROCKWIRED
WITH YOUR HOST
BRIAN LUSH
PRESENTS:
BOBBIE GENTRY

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2005 AT 5:00PM (PACIFIC STANDARD TIME)
AT
WWW.KTSTFM.COM

She was beautiful, mysterious and cool. However, we can't go on
about Bobbie Gentry without bringing her extraordinary talent and
life. Born in the most unassuming circumstances in Mississippi, she
found her voice through music at an early age. From there, she
pursued her education in music composition in Southern California
and became a showgirl in Las Vegas. It was in nightclubs in Vegas
where Ms. Gentry created one of the greatest performers in country
music as well as popular music of the sixties and seventies

Bobbie Gentry's influence can still be felt today. You can hear it
in performers such as Sheryl Crow, Shelby Lynne and the Dixie
Chicks. It's wasn't Country, It wasn't Soul and it wasn't Rock n
Roll. It was all of them and there weren't that many artists who
could walk the line that divides all three, but Bobbie could.

It's her sense of songcraft, storytelling, voice and beauty that
make Bobbie Gentry an artist worth celebrating and ROCKWIRED is
giving this lady her due

To those not in the know, ZED JONES was the first new artist to be
showcased on ROCKWIRED. He is set to star in an upcoming play called
"THE BUCK STOPS HERE". In it, he will play none other than PAT ROBERTSON.

To understand why I'm laughing out loud at the idea of him playing PAT
ROBERTSON, visit his website betweenloveandfear.com and see the
write-up I made for him in ARCHIVES section of rockwired.com

Also, give his latest cd THE POWER OF BALANCE a listen. You'll
understand why ROCKWIRED gave it up for him.

THE THREE MINUTE SONG IS STANDARD IN THE WORLD OF POPULAR MUSIC. IT'S
HARDLY ENOUGH TIME FOR THE MUSIC TO TAKE YOU ANYWHERE. THE GUYS FROM
DRIVEN FIGURED THAT OUT AND HAVE GIVEN ROCKWIRED A HOMESPUN RECORDING
OF SOME THE MOST ADVENTUROUS PROGRESSIVE ROCK SINCE YES.

THE PRODUCTION MAY AMAZE YOU, BUT IT'S THEIR STRONG SENSE OF SONGCRAFT
THAT PROVES TO BE THE BANDS WINNING FORMULA. JASON GARBACZ, STEVE
LENTZ AND BRAD MARTENS ARE DRIVEN BY A NEED TO WANT TO MAKE THE WORLD
OF ROCK A LITTLE MORE INTERESTING THAN IT'S BEEN IN THE PAST FEW YEARS

Highlighting great new music is ROCKWIRED's paramount objective.
What
you hear on ROCKWIRED is music you won't hear anywhere else; At
least
not for a while anyway. Don't be surprised if you find XIREN
(SEER-REN) on all the music channels (if they play music still), the
airwaves and the front pages of all viable Music Press.

With his E.P., THERAPY FOR HEROES, XIREN finds that strange yet
accessible place between Celtic sounds, U2, STING and LED ZEPPELIN.
This isn't a mere recording, this is a force of nature. XIREN is
already gaining attention beyond his base of operations in DENVER
COLORADO. It's safe to assume that once you've played RED
ROCKS on
your own without any other band support, there's no where to go
but
up. As a superficial aside, this is the first time in ROCKWIRED's
history where we've showcased a solo artist with only one name.
(Not
even STING) XIREN's musical chops are considerable and amazing.
It's
all the more reason for ROCKWIRED to stand up and take note.

It's been a good year for ROCKWIRED. I didn't think that the sshow

Now THE ROCKWIRED WEB FORUM is up and running so that the listeners
