Thought the Stones fans in the group would like to know about this
auction, for one of the more colorful and unique items among all the
Rolling Stones Memorabilia you'll find on eBay this week.
This is a ONE-OF-A-KIND custom-framed, official, licensed, souvenir
bandana from 1989's Steel Wheels Tour. This Warholesque piece has
punky, day-glow Lips logos, with white Steel Wheels Iconography,
graffiti lyric snippets on the white, all on a black bandana. 21.75 x
21.5".
Provenance
This bandana was purchased at the Rolling Stones concert held 11
September 1989 at Alpine Valley Music Theatre, the Wisconsin venue
where Stevie Ray Vaughn played his last show. (Ticket stub not
included in auction.) The bandana was never worn, but was laid flat
and carefully preserved.
In the early 90s, the splendid key-lime, day-glo frame was selected
under the discerning eye of Carmi Raynsford, of the long-gone
Framemakers of Costa Mesa, California. (Carmi later moved to London
and married comedian Emo Phillips.)
