Thanks for bringing up one of my favourite songs. The topic of what it means is
fascinating.
There is a line I've seen written as
"Did you know they can change it all?"
but I hear it as
"Did you know they can't change at all?"
which fits with how I know bees to be. They're pre-programmed from
hatching as to their role in life and cannot change. This idea that bees can
transform things but cannot change themselves brings up fascinating issues of
predestination and fate. We're not like bees in having the ability perform
alchemy but maybe we have power over our own destiny somewhat instead.
