Madonna on Live Earth with Gogol Bordello reminded me
a lot of Kate's old performances.

In the UK I don't see a problem with them putting a
comprehensive DVD collection out, but in the US
because she wound up with 2 different companies, it
might be an issue.

A lot of the stuff showing up on You Tube and Google
video is great though. There's a lot of TV appearances
out there, how much she'd be able to put out... I
think they're all very different from each other and
even if the songs repeat, the footage in itself is
worth its weight.

Plus who knows what was filmed and videotaped by her
family, or how far her home movies go back.

I'm assuming she has complete control over her
catalog.

I'm thinking since "Aerial" has been out, part of what
she's been working on involve the videos and concert
footage. Was there more shot on the 1979 tour?

I'm also thinking Legacy/Sony or EMI is planning a
"Essential Kate Bush" 2 CD set that covers Sensual/Red
Shoes/Aerial as well as "Kick Inside" to "Hounds of
Love".

The videotapes aren't that hard to find, fortunately.

I think this might be a good idea, -- though it
doesn't help those like me, who are stuck with dial-up
(rural area :( )

I hope the recording company (I forget which) will
wise up and finally put out an official DVD of Kate's
videos, but until then I guess I'll make do with the
music.

...and a great big english "THANK YOU"!!! Well done on these!~

Have you any of you heard the promo they are showing on PBS in New York City for
the advertisement of Ken Burns new 7 week mini-series called "The War"? It has
a Bob Dylan sounding voice singing Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" ~ slow and
fantastic! If you can get it via sadelite New York City's local PBS Channel
Thirteen you will most likely hear it - they play it often until the series
starts in the fall!

Glad you enjoyed them! I usually hang out on the Homeground Forum,
but thought a few fans might not visit that one, so I posted the
list here as well.

I've been uploading some clips on Google Video in addition to the ones
I've put on YouTube. I've posted this on other Kate forums, but wanted
to make sure every fan got a chance to see these.

The advantages are:
Higher quality
Longer clips
Users can save clips
Clips can be private (not searchable)

The ones I put on Google are obscured; the words "Kate Bush" don'tappear
anywhere in the description. The idea is to have an archive thatyou can
get to only if you know the direct link. These are for you toshare with
fellow Kate fans, but please don't post them everywhere. Idon't know if
Kate or EMI is behind it, but the "Kate Bush" MySpacepage just got
deleted again, so somebody has some funny ideas about promotion. I'd
prefer to not have to spend weeks uploading all these videos again.

Speaking of which -- wasn't there some talk about her videos being officially

official product, if released), but nothing came of it.

Will we regret it when something DOES happen?!
Does it cost you money to keep it going John? If it
does then by all means wrap it up, if it doesn't then
what's the harm in keeping it open in the vain hope
that Kate hasn't dropped off the planet?!

Whatever happened to a second single being released
from her album? I for one feel quite disappointed and
let down by Ms. Bush. We waited all that time and got
one single. I know we also got a fabulous album but
by crikey she hasn't given us much else to accompany

some i have bought which is no doubt earning her more

Sorry if this sounds a but harsh, I love her to bits

   John,

I never realized that you were handling that group!
Anyway, I left it years ago, when even the moderators
at the time were saying its time had come and gone.
Unless I hear some specific reason to continue it, I
   would drop it.

I'm also considering unsubing from the Gaffa group at
Yahoo, for the same reason--there's just no traffic,
and hasn't been anything of significance
   for a long time.

I think there has to be a certain critical mass to
make these things worth bothering with. Even with the
Homeground board, there's not really that much
news specifically about Kate, and speaking for myself,
I mostly come around for discussion about matters that
are indirectly related, or not related at all.

Thanks Steve, I'm glad you said that. My forum was set up as an alternative,
there would have been no point in setting up a similar forum. The Homeground
forum does well for the types of people drawn to that style of forum, and
hopefully mine is a good home for those who prefer an alternative.

Well if you did decide not to carry on, you would all find a welcoming good

is now the biggest Kate forum and is certainly a very friendly place to be.

I say keep it. Yes, there may not be any new traffic coming, but the archives
make an
interesting read (that's the only reason I keep MY group around!).

Yes, there are dozens of Kate fora out there, and of those there's really only
one
worth reading (and even that one has been really slowing down, too). Most of
them
could go away and nobody would miss them (especially the Kate Yahoo! group), but
this is not one of them.

I agree, if it's costing you money shut it down. If not, then we might as well
all sit back and patiently wait for Kate. She will return eventually. I also
get google alerts on anything in the news that has her name. Rarely but
occasionally something interesting comes up (like her private beach of one her
homes). Still, it's nice to have a connection with some other fans. It is a
bit confusing why she only released one single. She clearly could have had two
or three. Still, it's only been a year and three months since the LP was
released. Though there may not be any more singles coming, now that her
responsibilities for raising Birdie are somewhat freed up (since he's a bit
older now) perhaps it wont be so long for her next one.

John,

I never realized that you were handling that group! Anyway, I left it years
ago, when even the moderators at the time were saying its time had come and
gone. Unless I hear some specific reason to continue it, I would drop it.
I'm also considering unsubing from the Gaffa group at Yahoo, for the same
reason--there's just no traffic, and hasn't been anything of significance
for a long time.

I think there has to be a certain critical mass to make these things worth
bothering with. Even with the Homeground board, there's not really that much
news specifically about Kate, and speaking for myself, I mostly come around
for discussion about matters that are indirectly related, or not related at
all.

I think it's great that youtube has a number of Kate's videos -- though it's the
bane of all us dial-up users.

Hello,
I am a new member to the group.I have been a massive KB fan ever since I
saw her singing Wuthering Heights on Top Of The Pops when I was 10.I am from
the UK but currently live in Perth in Western Australia.
Am enjoying Aerial so so much but have been listening to most of her
other albums on a daily basis.I am hoping her videos get re-issued on DVD
soon as i almost wore out my copy of The Single File video from way back.
Has anyone seen the clip from Japanese TV of Kate dancing (amazingly)
while 2 women sing Them Heavy People in a cabaret chicken in a basket
style.Reall strane.Does anybody know the story behind this appearance and
was it filmed in Japan?
     Best wishes for now
        Stephen

Amen to that. It would be an awesome DVD to watch and have.

I've been listening to this one on and off over the

I think it was interesting that she did the one promo
video then that was it when she's one of THE music
video pioneers.

She works slowly but has a full committment into
whatever she's working on, and a balance of keeping
her private life protected as much as possible, famous
enough to do cool things but not famous enough to be
hassled, and because she's from a financially stable
family and her own money that she's been able to work
at her own pace.

I don't worry about it when she disappears. It's
expected by now. Just hope that she has projects going
on, past and present to tide us over. I'd love to see
them put out Hammersmith on DVD, maybe a full length
reedited/remastered version.

Hopefully the wheels are turning on doing a live show.

someone actually said to me that they thought the
album was dire as it
is SOOOO self indulgent. I have to admit that although
I wanted to
smack this person round the face when thinking about
their comment I had to
agree that I think it is very self indulgent! Also,
really when you
think about it it is SOOOO selfish that she hasn't
released another track
this whole last year! I mean what is all that about?
She works on the
album for years and years, keeps us waiting, releases
ONE track and then
disappears into obscurity again. I hope nothing
horrible has happened
in her personal life but assuming it hasn't....where
the bl00dy hell is
she??

Sorry but I have to disagree...I feel that this is the most mature, fluidly put
together album ever of Kate's. She has mastered her extremes from The Dreaming
to the stylish Hounds of Love. I think Aerial's her masterpiece. I read
(somewhere) that she said something to the affect "what if I put out two more
lps in row that would really surprise them". What a 'dream' that would be if we
did not have to wait years and years. With Birdie in school most of the time now
though, perhaps she will not have to take as much time to release a new one.

Just my thoughts...

I think there's been enough time for us to figure out what our favorite songs
from Aerial are -- I have a few -- Nocturne and the title song, Aerial are
probably my favorites, but every time I hear Pi, it runs through my head for
hours after. I like How To be Invisible quite a bit too, and King of the
mountain ... Hell, I like the whole double album, though it still hasn't
replaced The Dreaming and Hounds of Love as favorite albums.

What are everyone else's favorites?

How are the videos those of you who see them on youtube? I've seen but one Kate
video when staying with friends with cable TV (thankfully it was of one of my
all time favorite Kate songs, Suspended in Gaffa). Youtube is an amazing thing,
but amazing only in theory to those of us with dial-up (hazard of rural life, I
suppose). Anyway, what are some reviews of Kate's videos?

Any word on Kate working on new material?

Any word on the reissues of her earlier albums? Any rumors about an authorized
DVD video collection?
