My name is Rick Davis, and I am coming out of the closet for real this time. 
You may know me now as a peace-loving Silver City-based musician, activist and
non-profit business consultant.  Well, life hasn't always been this simple for
me.  As a former high-ranking executive with all the excessive perks of success,
I was addicted to the rewards of the classic American Dream.  Competition,
domination and  control ran my life ragged.  Winning was the only name of the
game and I won nearly every game I entered.  My big-city life was full of
trophies ranging from the fancy car, the big home, several corner offices, and
the works.  Man, what a ride.  Feel free to read more about my personal

My creativity and hard work was well rewarded, but something was still missing
from my picture of success.  That something missing turned out to be me.  The
"real me" had disappeared from my own life and I was the last to figure it out.

According to the American Dream of having it all, I had arrived very quickly. 
Mine was a hyper-speed trip, going from childhood games on the mean streets of
Omaha to doing million-dollar deals at the top of the World Trade Center.  But
at the pinnacle of my material success, I realized that I still wasn't happy. 
No matter how much I could ever win and consume, unconditional fulfillment and
contentment was not part of my life.  Even though I had everything a person
could want, I decided that it was time to make some drastic changes in order to
realize true happiness and re-gain my spiritual connection to life.

Automatically doing what others wanted me to do and ignoring my inner voice just
didn't work for me anymore.  I had indeed reached the end of material
fulfillment and begun my spiritual journey at the tender age of 30.

To say the least, the demand for self-actualization comes when you least expect
it.
Everyone will know this demand one way or another.
On the road again….. quite a bit different this time.

When I started on my new journey to find true happiness, all I knew was that I
could no longer use the same criteria for success that I had used in the past. 
Financial gain - no longer criteria.  Career advancement - no longer criteria. 
The simple criteria of discovering inner peace and knowing happiness is all that
remains.

Inner peace is what I have discovered.
Happiness is what I have become.
Unconditional self-love is the key.
All answers are found inside.

Wilderness Music Festival Requesting Vendor Support

Calling all cooks, chefs, and artists who want to make cash while listening to fantastic music!  The organizers of the 2^nd annual Fiesta de la Luna Music Festival are still looking for food and merchandise vendors to support the festival scheduled for September 8-10 at Wildwood Hot Springs near the Cliff Dwellings.  Vegetarian, vegan, and organic dishes are highly encouraged.  The full kitchen on-site can accommodate preparation for multiple simultaneous vendors for the 3-day festival.  Merchandise vendors must bring their own tables.

You don't want to miss Root Skankadelic's Arizona debut in Bisbee @ Club
Kilimanjahro! This is an ALL-AGES, NO-SMOKING positive-movement reggae show so
bring all your coolest friends and family! Ending the summer like this never
felt so good.... folks from Tucson and surrounding areas will travel near and
far to attend this phenomenal Bisbee music event..... such a musical hi-vibe
love-fest never imagined.....

Club Kilimanjahro is located at 33 Subway Street, Bisbee, AZ, 85603, next to the
Bisbee Chamber of Commerce. There is a $6 cover fee for this music event. Doors
open at 8 pm with music lasting past midnight.

Fresh off their successful El Paso debut, Root Skankadelic is a 7-piece
ALL-ORIGINAL reggae band created out of spiritual and revolutionary necessity in
the funky and happening little southwest New Mexico town of Silver City. What
started out as a way for friends to hang out, express life's passions, and play
soulful spiritual and transformative music has turned into quite an addition to
the New Mexico reggae scene. Politically conscious with heavy soul and bass,
Root Skankadelic's ALL-ORIGINAL music brings a vibe that definitely defies
traditional confines.... from roots to dancehall and love.... Root Skankadelic
can handle leading this unique path with maximum humbility....

Over the past year, the band has traveled from Silver City to play its original
style of dance-conscious-jam-reggae-funk music to satisfied crowds in Las
Cruces, El Paso, and Terlingua, TX. Now it's time to share the RSD vibe with
Bisbee.
