You rang?
Oh ok, here we are again.
Yeh, we're laid back, but is it because there's so few of us? I can fantasize
now, let's act like I'm a global phenom and my little yahoo group grows and
grows and voila! suddenly there's over a hundred new members! and then 500...
and wow it's outta control, over 1000 worldwide keepers of the flame. Pretend
games...
But if the handful of us posted moore often, then it would seem like a bustling
forum, no?
Thanks Big Al for that cool question. It's a goodun too.
The legendary GOODBYE PIANO was recorded late 1975 on an old Fischer Cabinet
Upright, which really was outta tune. Taped at a short lived apartment on North
12th Street in East Nashville... don't recall how the piano got there, if it was
already there when I moved in... don't believe I had brought it with me. And I
sure didn't take it with me when I moved out a month later.
The song originally appeared on STEVIE MOORE RETURNS, and here you'll find lots
more detailed background info:

You can hear that same peculiar keyboard sound used on LONELY TEARDROPS and THE
KIDS WITH DADDY.
Of course, GP was chosen for PHONOGRAPHY, FOUR FROM PHONOGRAPHY (on which The
Residents first heard it, and wrote me the notorious "tear my hair out" letter)
and was even selected in '78 as a rare single A-side (?!) for the French
Flamingo label (which was my early introduction to its head, Patrick Mathe of
later New Rose fame).
Hope this helps.
Keep the questions coming, little fanbase!
