Remembrance Day, is a day for honoring the war dead, is a legal
holiday observed throughout Canada on Nov. 11
It commemorates the armistice that ended World War 1 at 11:00 AM of
that day in 1918.
Originally called Armistice Day - as it continues to be known in
Newfoundland .
when it was renamed Remembrance Day and its observation reverted to Nov.
11.
The symbol of this day is the poppy of Flanders, replicas of which are
distributed by the ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION.
Characteristic of Remembrance Day are patriotic and memorial ceremonies
on steps of cenotaphs and other war monuments in Canada
and throughout the Commonwealth.
On the 11th day of the 11th hour of the 11th month is when World War 1
officially ended
There are many different ways we can commemorate Remembrance Day
1: On way is by wearing a Poppy
2: We can also commemorate Remembrance Day By Having a REMEMBRANCE
DAY Parade
3: also by holding a tribute service
4: Other pay tribute by writing songs or poetry to honor the War
Dead
